Peg didn't know what had prompted this sudden outburst of remorse though a little part of her was glad that he was feeling what she had felt for days. Just undeniably pure pain. Still, she loved him enough that seeing him suffer caused her to suffer too and though she didn't want to fight, she didn't want to be cold either.
"I know you do, Buck, deep down," she said, running her thumb across his palm. "I just... it's hard. To not feel... the way I feel. It's not going to be an easy fix.
