"He's a lucky kid," he agreed, smiling at her fondly. He sighed and gave her a nod of agreement regarding her assessment of Jack. "I know, I always feel a sentence away from telling him that sometimes," he admitted with a bit of a guilty look. Jack wouldn't take it well, but he sometimes wondered if it just had to be said. There was too much tension between them. It was going to boil over one day.
He didn't have time to really feel badly about it though, as he was soon grinning at the idea of baby Charlie. Despite every reason he had to be sad, she'd given him all the reason in the world to be happy. It was conflicting, but he wanted to let himself be happy. They deserved that, didn't they? After everything?
"Great, I'd love that," he told her decisively, then moved to grab the towel for her and hand it over.
