Whenever Katherine worked on something she liked, she almost fell into it. The world around her was blended into the background and barely reached her. Her equipment was scattered around the room and she sat in a corner loading pictures from her camera onto the laptop. Concentration made her bite her lips as she sorted one picture after another. Until a voice could suddenly be heard. Katherine almost jumped. Her hand pushed the laptop away in a startled reflex and it came dangerously close to the edge of the table it was seated on.
"Fuck!"
Even before she realised who had disturbed her, she simply grabbed a pillow and tossed it into the direction of the voice. Her displeasure needed to be expressed. Lips were pursed as eyes followed it to land on the intruder. Her heart was beating like mad from the shock.
"You are worse than my Dad," she hissed. But her expression was already softening. Geez, he was quite a sight. Her heart agreed as it jumped from shock to excitement. Still, she wasn't ready to let go of her anger and a glare remained despite the twitching corners of her mouth.
