All day long, Elli had been grizzly and uncomfortable. Since there was no temperature and she wasn't hungry or had a soiled diaper, Sook could only figure that there was one explanation for her daughter's inability to settle down. It was hard, sometimes, to get her little girl to focus on her mother's mind so she could share the blocking technique and particularly in a house full of minds.
When Bo had suggested taking a trip out, it seemed like a pretty great idea actually. They could both use a break and it was easier to soothe her daughter when there was nobody else around. So Sook packed up the crying baby in her big, old fashioned stroller and walked down to the beach.
By the time they both got there, Elli was cooing quietly and looking up at her Mama with big blue eyes. Sook smiled down at her and saw Bo in the distance, sitting outside his tent.
"Hi!" she called, waving out to him as she pushed the stroller along the sand.
