Katherine let the two men talk, standing there caught in her own thoughts. Mortal enemy - it took something to call someone that and Arthur did not seem to be the type to gather a horde of enemies.
Her uncle's smile disturbed her thoughts and she could not help but to smile back. Even though he tried to hide it often enough while she was around her, she knew him too well by now to remain ignorant of his dark mood. So the smile was worth pure gold. Like most people she just wanted her closest friends to be happy.
"What is she like? What has she done to deserve to be your mortal enemy?" Katherine softly asked. All mockery and annoyance was gone, only interest remained.
