Though still living in that blissful honeymoon state with his new(ish) wife, Thor continued to struggle with his complacency in this world. He was drowning in his own inability to fight, to clash with another being of strength that was not a spar with Sif or the occasional row with his brother--though he felt they had been on good, if not quiet, terms. A tiny voice inside told him to go through the doors and explore, see the other realms he had never yet heard of. There was one to the place his blue acquaintances came from that was not home to the Kree...a place where he was certain he could find monsters to battle and wage conflict with. But he did not find excitement in that, and that was where depression gripped him.
Once, he would have jumped at the chance to fly through to another realm and hack-slash his way through the animals and monsters. Now, he was a pathetic shell. No mighty god was he. He did not deserve such a title when he felt, acted, as he did now. He did not deserve Mjolnir, either, which was why he had been left behind....because he couldn't pick it up. Barely had Thor been able to wield it the other night upon Katherine's call, it had been a struggle and a fight to will himself. That monster, that bird-man, he wanted to crush him under a fist and Katherine had told him no.
He was useless.
He was a husk of a man, a god, a leader.
And so for all of his physical strength he seemed to have no willing strength to do anything worthwhile. What did you do in a utopia you were not interested in being part of?
Thor sighed heavily and sat upon a bench as he contemplated what to do now, feeling as if he were being dragged through that airless universe.
