Abi rocked a little with him, stroking his back up and down as much for her comfort as for his. Her memories of her mother seemed to revolve around this motion, the comfort and caring when Abi was sick as a kid. "We are stronger together than we could ever be apart. That's just basic physics, sweetheart, all just in the science..." she smiled as much as she could but it was a thousand percent real.
"I was sick as a kid, you know. Constantly just ill, up until I was about 8 or 9, I think. Mom would look after me and she would stroke my hair and say that even in the darkest of times, a small light is better than no light at all." she chuckled a little. "I remember it vividly. Running 102 degree fevers, you tend to think everything is a hallucination."
