He laughed softly, "I made a few cupcakes to throw Stevie and Mouse off the trail and then hid this one." he told her with a grin, sipping his wine and finishing off his own plate too.
"That seems to run in the family." he smiled to her, picking at a few of the vegetables before he set his glass back down and stood up. He took both of their plates and set them in the sink. Opening up one of the cabinets he revealed the cake. There were some crumbs in the frosting on the side and it was a little lopsided-which he'd tried to cover by adding extra berries on top but really just made it look like a crooked cake with too many berries on it. But he'd done it on his own and was still a little proud of that. He set it on the table and went back for a server and some small plates. He cut them both a decently-sized slice and put one in front of her. "Hope you like it."
