It had taken some time for James to get used to the idea of Isa's existence. It probably helped that he was older; even at his current age, it would have been possible for Isa to be his daughter. Kytana didn't have that semblance of normality with her. They were getting there, but only by taking it day by day, one obstacle at a time.
He was glad that Kyt was ready to talk, though. Despite not being the kind of guy to really stick around for long, he did miss her company. She was a wild young thing, fun and seemingly carefree at times. It made him feel lighter to be around her.
He had dressed for swimming, and was wearing surf shorts with a light linen shirt that could be easily removed. He didn't think the entire meeting would be on dry land, given her mermaid nature. And right enough, there she was with her tail in the water, looking like something right out of a fairy tale.
James kicked his shoes to the side and sat down beside her letting the water lap over his feet that remained feet. "Afternoon, Kytana," he smiled as he sat down. "How are you?"
