Kytana knew now what risk she ran being Kylo Ren's Master. Why she had rejected being anyone's Master up to that point. For reasons she had not yet discovered, being in touch with such darkness was drawing out memories that had been buried in the damaged parts of her mind. It wasn't his fault. She knew that. He couldn't know. And it was her idea to train him, to give him options in life.

But there came a time that she just needed to breathe. To be away from all the Force sensitive people that had come to claim the Temple home.

Kytana did not resent them. Her battle was her own, and not a single soul within the walls could help her with it. At least. She didn't think they could. She had to get out, to be able to think.

Getting away was enough, or now. Centering herself on the sounds of the forest, as she sat down on a low hanging branch, that was just thick enough to hold her. Pulling the holodisk out of her pocket she began to fiddle with it. She'd gotten it programmed to show a visualization of a Frost Giant, but she wasn't entirely sure that she was getting the height just right. And she was set on doing that.

He had been watching her carefully for the last few days, he supposed. After he had come back from Boston with Katherine, there had been only one thing on his mindset; understanding Kytana Montrose and the ways of this apparition she called The Force. To Loki, it seemed no more than another form of magic rather than the faith she spoke of, but he was curious nonetheless. He could hear the fractures in her mind breaking apart once more and endeavoured to be curious.

Her magic was strong enough, though he could teach her how to hone it. Loki wouldn't offer, though, since he really didn't care about her power. She could deal with it herself.

"You are a little stunted on the height, Little One. Frost Giants are far more broad of shoulder than that. I am not your best measure for them." He said, making himself visible at the base of the tree, sceptre in hand.

Kytana knew she had felt something very familiar, yet had not been able to put her finger on what it was, more often than not. She'd sensed the same power during the battle with the Reapers. She finally had her answer when he made himself visible. Oddly, she relaxed. A little smile touched her lips.

Rather than take her gaze from the disk in her hands, she twisted, and toyed with a few variables to change the height, and the shoulder girth. "Written words don't often do justice. How is that? Better?" Her gaze then met his. "I'm also working on a bit of a recording, but I am not sure I have the timbre of the voice right."

She offered him the holodisk, so that he might see for himself. "But, if I may, I will offer that you are much more pleasing to the eye, than their description portrays."

Loki mirrored her incredibly human smile and noted how it was slightly crooked, one corner of her mouth tilting up higher than the other. It was rather endearing and made her golden hair shine. She must have witching powers too.

He stood back a little further from the image as she seemed to adjust that little device, and the Frost Giant changed shape and form to better suit the description. "Better but imperfect," he replied and stood even farther back. He stamped his sceptre on the ground and the perfectly replicated image of Laufey appeared next to the diminutive one she had belied. "I would play you a recording but I'd rather not give you all the answers."

Loki waved his hand at the offer, not caring for toys as his brother did. "I am not susceptible to flattery, Ms Montrose. If you wish for answers in this forest, I am not certain you will find them. You're shying away from power, which is just... insanity." He grinned at the idea, "You are a curious creature."

Her lips parted as he replicated his image of Laufey. She tweeked the disk a bit more. Stretching the height, widening the shoulder even more. Narrowing the hips just a touch. "I will have to wait to change the markings until I have more tools. But I am sure I will remember." She was doing this for him, after all.

"Please, call me Kytana." If she were honest, some perverse part of her wanted to hear her name from his lips. "And as you said to me the other day, it is hardly flattery, but truth." He was very kind on the eyes, if she were susceptible to such things. "I'm not exactly shying away from it, I'm trying to keep the book closed on a life that is best left alone. There are many things that flow inward with such power. I am actually looking for a distraction from the book, which is why I'm here. Rather than find answers." She was sure that any answers she would need wouldn't be found on the island. If anywhere in this universe. "Any answers I stand to find before I blink out of this life are likely to never be uttered, because they would come from lips that would not share such things."

He dissolved his image of his biological father and agreed to let her adjust her device of her own accord, though he knew not for what purpose. Loki leant on his septre, the blue giving him an eerie glow. Taking in her words, he wondered why she should keep the book closed on her past life. He knew she was far from proud of that part of her, but he considered it a part of her nonetheless.

"Why do you deny that your former nature is still a part of you?" he asked curiously. "I am of the firm belief that the path behind us is still one that we are certain of; it's the future that we have no control over and should be wary of." He beckoned her down from the branches with his eyes, not enjoying how far away she was. "Why must you hide from me, Kytana?"

Her lips turned up again. She was glad she had made the request, But she waited to answer his questions until she was down on the ground. Doing as he beckoned without words. "I deny what I am because it causes impassioned arguments with my daughter. It's a path I had already trod down, and the end is full of nothing but bitterness, and the longing of something that will never come to an end." Her smile hid the screams she woke up to, with a sharp start, nearly every night lately.

"But I do not hide from you anymore than I do myself, Loki." Kytana knew it was dangerous to purr his name in such a way. But he was a far nicer distraction than the disk she slid into her pocket just then. "What is it you would like to see?" She was sans her robes. As she felt far from the Jedi way. She wore simple sleek black leggings, and top. Boots that reached clear to her knee, shone as if they had just been polished.

Loki chuckled in empathy; he knew all about impassioned arguments with one's daughter all too well. His Katherine had inherited her stubbornness from him or perhaps learned his nature through their training. "Perhaps you have chosen the more enlightened path than I have, Kytana. My daughter looks to me as her trainer and mentor rather than her father. I do not know how to be her father."

He could tell she was hiding from him still but he really didn't care, he decided. She had her right to hide, as did he. He shrugged off her lie and ignored how she called him by his first name. "I'd like to see you unleash a little of your dark side but I know that keeps you screaming at night. It would be a big price to see something so beautiful as you in your element."

"I believe it is 'a learn as you go' experience. I can't say I knew how to be a mother when Sunila first arrived, I especially don't now that she is older." Kytana leaned against the tree's trunk. Her gaze shifting from him to the canopy above. "She is so very strong willed. But I find that having her as a baby helps me understand more than I had." Her eyes cut to him once more.

Kytana chucked when he confessed what he would like to see. She didn't brush off his spoken consern. "That is not what wakes me, nor what causes me to scream." Her dreams weren't nightmares. Still a little cheeky grin kept her lips turned up. "I am curious if it is a demonstration of my power that you would like to see, or if it's who I used to be."

"I have been told that exact same phrase many times since Katherine's arrival. I denied her existence for far too long and we have tried to rebuild trust ever since..." he mused, leaning more into his own mind. "I will not have Katherine as an infant for many decades yet. Perhaps by then I will be a good father to her."

He caught her gaze once more and took a broad step in her direction. "I would enjoy a demonstration, perhaps."

Kytana understood that position fairly well. "Sunila's father did the same, he wanted a blood test, where as I could not deny her." Kytana sighed softly, she missed her 'eldest' being a youngling very much. Though now it be even more difficult to deny that she was her daughter.

She wasn't really much for showing off unless she had to, but he was enjoyable company. And she didn't want to be rude either. "Perhaps a soft demonstration first?" Turning more into him she didn't completely close the gap but she did step a good bit closer. She held her hands out parallel to the ground, palms up. A wordless request for his. "If I may?"

He didn't take another step forward but instead let her set the pace of their interactions. "A soft demonstration? You think of me as a novice?" he chuckled but allowed her space to perform her parlour tricks. "Very well, enlighten me to your ways..." he gestured and stepped another step back in case she needed space.

"Not hardly. But I haven't tried to..." Kytana dragged her teeth over her lower lip, how did she phrase what she wanted to do without sounding inappropriate. She couldn't, so she simply shook her head. "Willful minds need physical contact. Would you place your hands within mine?" Would he trust her so much? She couldn't be sure what would happen between them. She knew what she intended to do, but he was so... different than anything she'd ever really dealt with before. But she knew House had a willful mind, and to pass things onto him, there did have to be contact.

Loki chuckled a little derisively but complied with her request. He had never needed physical contact to exert his magicks but he would never deny the request of a woman like her. He did as requested and placed his hands within hers, waiting for something amazing to happen.

"Do you always need to be touching someone?" he asked.

Kytana would not lie if asked. She did like the feel of his hands, soft, they lacked the callouses that her's had and did not seem to bare the scars either, and slightly cool to her perpetually warm. They were very nice.

"It depends on the person. If they are force sensitive, no. If they do not have the will that you do, no. Sometimes when they are as willful as you are, I do not, when I exert my will upon them. But I do not wish to do that, it would be rude, and I also do not wish to see anything by accident, that you do not wish me to see. So please, close your eyes, and focus only on your breathing. I give you my solemn word that I am not going to invade your thoughts." She did as she instructed him to do. And began to push the Force into him through their touch, allowing him to feel as she did. The life around them, the caress of the delicate breeze, the coarseness of the cloth that covered her. The heft of the pair of lightsabres at her waist. Even the dewiness of the grasses beneath their feet.

Doing as he was told, thought he wasn't exactly sure why he was allowing her, Loki didn't feel anything at first. Then there it was, like a wave of warm air washing over his cooled skin. He wouldn't have known what to name it if he didn't already have a name for it but it was simply and truly fascinating. It felt like a raw power that thrummed in the background of reality, like an oncoming hurricane looming over an arid valley. He felt it make him more human at the fear of the dam bursting and flooding his body.

"Have you fully unleashed this here?" he asked with a low voice, pushing some of his magicks into her body - or at least trying to. "This power is more subtle, it will creep under your skin and turn a man to madness. I can see why you went to the darker side of it."

"It's not exactly something that can be unleashed, as it is never tethered. It's always there. It simply takes a sensitive to tap into it." She felt the delicate push of his own magicks. She released the walls that might have held him back. A light gasp was sucked in past her slightly parted lips. "I could argue that the Force is neither dark nor light. It is the wielder that is. But here, there is a little bit of darkness to it." But Kytana did her best to protect him from feeling that part of the Force. As it was enough to drive a person to madness if you let it.

Where the Force was subtle, to her, his power felt like a titlewave. She had to wrap her fingers around his wrists, to keep from falling over. It could have simply been that she was used to the Force, as he was used to his own tap of power. "I am glad this place exceeds the Emperor's grasp, otherwise he might be tempted to take, and use, your lifeforce instead of mine." She knew her fate should she ever return to council space. But she was also glad that the dark man in his dark tower hadn't realized what was in his grasp either.
