A long, almost sad sounding, whine echoed in the halls. At least, it could be interpreted as a whine but there was a clear mechanical sound to it.
"Well you should have been watching where you were going." Poe shook his head at BB-8. If he hadn't had the little droid for as long as he had, he would never have believed that a droid could actually get distracted and roll straight into some furniture.
The pilot was crouched down in front of BB-8, checking him over. Apart from a bent antenna and embarrassment (if droids could get embarrassed, Poe wouldn't put it past BB-8 though) everything seemed fine.
The little droid let out a small string of babbling beeps and whirls and Poe laughed. It was one of the things he loved about being able to understand binary but then, BB-8 spoke various droid languages. Poe had heard him speaking rapidly to R2-D2 and even he had struggled to grasp everything that was said between them.
"Yeah, I know buddy. There are a lot of new signals and things for you around here."
