John laughed appreciatively, despite the absolute mess of the situation they had found themselves in. "Just because we're fans of logic and reason, doesn't make us tedious," he teased, still smiling.
"Hmm, if it starts to get worse, you promise you'll let me know?" he asked, his hand moving to the back of Sherlock's neck, massaging gently, and pushing his fingers into his hair affectionately.
He sighed dramatically, half-expecting Sherlock to just strip off and run into the sea. "Mm, I suppose I should go and do the good doctor thing- but only if you're absolutely sure you're okay?" he asked, making eye-contact, making it clear that he wouldn't accept any bullshit.
