He probably looked silly with his arms held up like he had a partner, but his steps were sure and he took it slow for Mattie.
"Right foot right, then you bring your left, in just like that. Four steps, and you're back to your original footing. The timing is slow, slow-" he demonstrated with the backward steps, all long and sweeping, "Then quick, quick" came the steps to the right, about half the time.
"Man's part is just the opposite; forward left, right, left step quick, bring them together," he explained, "So when you're moving together, you're in sync. Your legs are moving together. That... making sense?"
