Who: Dexter Morgan and Felix Lapereau
What: Second meeting
Where: Gazebo in the courtyard
When: Tuesday afternoonish?
Rating: PG-13
Dexter slipped outside into the warm, summer day. It was nothing compared to Miami, but he still relished the heat. He shielded his eyes against the sun and made his way across the courtyard. A few patients were out and about. Some had orderlies. Some were orderlies. A few doctors here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary.
So far, this week had been quiet on the patient board and he hadn't heard any whispers filtering in to him from other patients and orderlies. He'd made a new friend and was concerned when he hadn't heard from an old one. His note to Felix was of brotherly concern; he knew Felix felt alone and lost. Even if he felt that way, too, he knew that maybe the simple act of reaching out would help him. He had read the parenting books Rita had left for him, after all.
He saw Felix in the gazebo and sneaked up to it stealthily. He didn't want to startle the poor rabbit, so he placed a heavy foot on the bottom stair. "Hello there," he called with forced cheer, not at the prospect of seeing his friend but to throw off anyone who might be eying the pair. He raised a friendly hand in a wave and came up the rest of the way.
