"I'm starting to think the multiverse has a sick sense of humor," Alicia said as she flopped down next to Katie on a couch. Since arriving here, Alicia had learnt two of the blokes she had some ties to didn't know who she was, and there were others that did, but it was all really, really messy.
"At least you and Mordy are doing well!" She added with a smirk. "Seems like something is working out here, but this place," Alicia paused with a shrug. "Does it call for more or less wine than Atlantis did?"
“I think the answer to that is always more wine,” Katie suggested with a grin. She grew more thoughtful for a moment before there was a more serious answer. “It's kind of creepily similar,” she admitted. “They apparently have no idea how people are coming or going, but a lot of the same weird shit has happened.” It was good to have someone else who remembered Atlantis around, even better that it was Alicia. Ange has come and gone there, but it was Alicia who had been a constant from their world since Katie’s own arrival. And Mordecai, from elsewhere, of course. She sort of let the comment about them doing well go, not totally sure what the two of them were doing. It wasn't something they'd really talked about yet.
Laughing she nodded. “Always more wine.” She repeated. “We need matching T-shirts,” Alicia suggested.
“So insane crap, but without the knowing how people are coming in and out,” Alicia nodded. “Check.” She sighed. “You and Ange been taking care of Roger?” It was a wise question knowing Roger. Alicia noticed the lack of response about Mordy but she decided not to push it.
“Course we are,” Katie said, nodding. “We had some people trapped in a pyramid for a few days last month.” Even after Atlantis, Katie really hated the whole people randomly disappearing thing. She wasn’t a fan of people not remembering her, either, but there wasn’t anything she could do about either.
She wanted to ask Alicia how she was doing with knowing Sam and Erik were both here without remembering life in Atlantis, but she figured maybe she needed some time to process and opted for happier news instead. “You missed Enjolras and Graintaire finally getting engaged. Wanna help me plan the party?”
“Was it anything like those weird training drills we had through temples once?” She asked. “Or just a random stuck in a pyramid sort of thing?” Alicia asked. It sounded like Atlantis.
“Enjolras told me! Took them long enough.” She laughed. “Damn straight I do.” Alicia nodded, that was a given. “Haven’t a clue of the best venue yet, but I imagine you have an idea?”
“Leanne said they had to do a lot of puzzles and riddles, like one of those Muggle escape rooms.” It sounded like it was interesting, at least, aside from the random wake up somewhere else and noone knew where they were thing.
“I have some ideas,” Katie confirmed. “Was thinking about maybe seeing if we could use the nightclub for it.” There was the pub and the other bar, of course, but the night club seemed a little nicer.
“So a bit similar to those,” Alicia nodded. “Always thought those were fun.” She paused. “When they aren’t trying to murder you.”
Nodding she shrugged. “Haven’t seen it yet, but we could head over there tomorrow and ask about it and book it?” Alicia suggested.
“You did just get here,” Katie teased. “Tomorrow, we can check it out and I'll give you a proper tour of the place.” For tonight, though, it was wine and a proper catch-up. For Katie, it was like she hadn't seen Alicia in weeks, almost two months!
“Holding you to it,” Alicia smiled. She was curious to see the place, and she wasn’t about to admit it but she already missed Atlantis. Alicia was glad Katie was there though, and Mordy. It made it a lot easier to be okay with the changes. “Has anyone turned into teddy bears yet?” Alicia changed the conversation.
Laughing, Katie shook her head. “No teddy bears, no Care Bears,” she said, making a disappointed face that was almost genuine. There were times she missed Atlantis, mostly the people. There'd been a lot of people there who either weren't here or didn't remember. Still, she couldn't help being grateful that Alicia checked both boxes. It had felt odd being here without her and she was really glad they were together again.
