Poe Dameron was seriously over all of this already. They'd literally just won the war and now he was being thrown headfirst into another one? Talk about giving a man no chance for a little relaxation and recovery. Also, what was the cause? Literally no point to fighting a war if you don't know and can't get behind the reason for it.
Of course there was also such a thing as crying over split milk or whatever that saying was and Poe was definitely not that way inclined. Nope, he tended to just get on with it, unless of course he disagreed and did so with a venom unseen since he'd accused Admiral Holdo of being a traitor and a coward.
And then there was Rey. Rey who seemingly had no memory of the events that had unfolded and most definitely did not know him which was awkward all things considered. Thankfully he had BB-8 who as always was stuck to his side like glue save for when BB-8 spotted somebody they knew and then all bets were off.
Speak of the devil, Rey appeared and BB-8 stopped scanning a nearby tree and began trundling towards her with all the speed of a X-Wing, clearly very excited to see her and Poe, well, he stopped and regarded Rey a bit more closely. She seemed... younger, if that made sense? Almost as though she hadn't seen as much or even done as much but that wasn't possible, right?
Clearing his throat he offered her a smile. "Hey, and I guess, but you know it's no rebel base. You?"
