I have to say, it's been quite some time since I've fallen asleep in one bed and woken up in another. It has the unnerving quality of reminding you just how old you've gotten when you don't quite recover from your wild nights the same way as you used to. Though how we got from Gotham to New York is another question entirely and I don't think I can blame the champagne for that memory gap.

It seems we're not alone in this mystery, however. I would be concerned, but... a likely impossibility and all that. At least it appears that we are not entirely without resources here. I would concern myself more with the machinations of the entity that brought us here but I don't particularly care at this juncture there are more pressing matters to attend to first. Like making sure those resources don't run out. Which brings me to my first order of business.

I saw that there were some individuals starting up a hospital on the premises and I'd like to offer my services. Assuming you aren't doing this all pro bono. If you are, then I'm going to have to find steady employment first and fill in where needed second.

And here I thought my surprise was the Robin costume.

Hope you weren't in the middle of a surgery.

You have your costume, do you?

No, no. Just finished. We were celebrating. And as usual someone's father refused to attend the party.

And it still fits.

You know that he doesn’t go to parties unless they’re masquerade balls and he gets to bring Marie Antoinette.

You don't say? I believe I may need a demonstration.

He claims he doesn't come because he doesn't drink anymore and I call bullshit. He knows I'd close the bar for him.

Then I’ll drop by to show you. You can make sure it’s still proper.

We both know the reason that he’s suddenly a teetotaler. He’s just too self absorbed to realize that anyone else can tell.

Of course. We have to make sure everything's still in order before you wear it in public.

That's Bruce for you.

Yeah! I'll take out the cigarettes and let you dig through the utility belt if you want.

I'd say you could try it on but it's not the version with tights.

Honestly, I think it's good for the Gotham-natives that we're not in Gotham. Maybe one of them will finally get a tan.

(Tim if you're reading this, yes I mean you.).

Also, it's not real New York.

Isn't it?

It is, and they'll have to remember that now that they aren't in gloomy Gotham.

It's a replica without the apartments and hotels, and we can't leave.

If I have to make a PSA for these poor pale children, I'm going to be so upset.

That's interesting. So this is the only apartment building in the entire city? And we're all here? Hm.

You may want to consider it, because I doubt they'll listen to me.

In short? Yes. To both questions.

You'd think more people would be able to be threatened with premature aging alone, but no, you have to pull out the entire arsenal and a slideshow presentation to go with it.

Fascinating. Well, I'm sure we'll all adjust. Change is the catalyst of... whatever.

You know how some people are, just taking their life into their own hands.

It's not bad, just....very strange.

The things that come through my office that are a direct result of people being stupid would shock and horrify most decent people.

It's a good thing I can handle strange.

I'm of the opinion that it's always better to not be from Gotham. It gives a person some perspective on what's going on inside the city. Though, having been born there myself, it may be a little odd of me to say that.

Oh, I left for a few years for college and med school and I did my residency in Pennsylvania. But I recently came back to set up my practice. I suppose it'll always be home. Such is the way of Gotham, it calls you back.

I'm happy to be on call if something more serious is needed. I worked in an asylum last, but I think I'll be looking for work in a hospital here. Still, I don't anticipate the kind of twelve-hour shifts I was working before. I should have more than enough time to be available.

Two things I very much enjoy. Not that I don't love my job, because I do, but I also love time away from my job as well.
