I had pizza tonight with...pepperoni is what Freya calls it. I like it better than cheesy noodles. Goddess Elena also got me chocolate cake!

I think I remember eating pizza with my parents. There is a lot of food here we could not have in Cairo.

We only have two rooms. Mother and father sleep in one and I sleep with my 5 siblings in one. I would’ve had six siblings, but mother told us one of them died, but she didn’t die, she is here and she lives with the aunt that I didn’t know we have.

I live with a lot of other children as well. We do not have real homes or families so we help each other.

Are mommy and daddy are family but I wish they weren’t. Daddy hurts my brother all the time, and I am supposed to be older and protect him, but I can’t protect him so I must be bad inside

It is hard for children to fight adults. Sometimes it is better to hide or run away because they are a lot bigger than us. The important thing is that even if you do not win you do not leave anyone behind either.
