Did you know in France they do not have an Easter bunny or chocolate eggs traditionally? Chocolate comes in the shape of bells with wings. This ties into the belief that the bells "fly" to Rome to be blessed before returning to their home in France. As a marking of the time, church bells do not ring from the Thursday before Easter till Easter morning.

Why is this important? Because it is one of my favorite family traditions and Friday I will be making chocolate bells for everyone. So, I am inviting all of you to come to help me. Do we really need an excuse to make and eat chocolate?

To celebrate the Easter season and the resurrection of Christ. France is historically a very Catholic country. It was a tale parents would tell their kids to explain why the bells stopped ringing as the bells are a part of everyday life in most French cities and villages.
