At some point, flitting from one universe to the other in the blink of an eye will come with a pre-warning, I'm sure of it.

Magick has never sent a note from herself, nor has she called herself an Entity, Nate doesn't have an ounce of decency to alert anyone to the shift, and if this is MoJo I'm going to put my fist through his face.

So, what's with this new shift? Where exactly in the multiverse is Goodland and if there are any X-Men here, I really need a latte? How fortunate a hundred dollar bill just billowed past with this note, hmm?

Lucky you. It's been a while since we screwed around with realities and time streams, but I dare say we'll have another stab at it soon.

Hopefully you're wrong about that.

Oh, I have no doubt I'm right. If it's not that, Apocalypse will probably resurface, or the Purifiers will do something stupid, or we'll have another fight with our sometimes allies. Peace rarely lasts.

En Sabah Nur. Widely considered the first ever mutant, supposedly destined to rule the world.

The destiny part? Most likely. He's 5000 years old, they worshiped stars back then. But he is likely the first ever mutant.

If you say so.

Find one older than him and I'll consider telling him he's not the first.

Whose older hasn't really been a thing I care all that much about, to be honest.

The point is tracing the mutant line to understand where we come from, not exactly comparing sizes.

I had a guy try for years to find out where I come from to the point that I'm not really interested.

Personal origins and the lineage of all mutants aren't exactly the same thing. Working out if we're a genetic fuck up or a step in evolution isn't something we can do with 23 and me.

Still, doesn't really affect me when it comes down to it.

Sure. If you think the outcome of the mutant race doesn't affect you.

My world, they haven't really done all that much for me lately. And here, I got more n'enough to keep me happy.
