I had previously been working with Christine to set up a functional space for a joint effort with the established clinic and something out with the villa for a sense of counselling for those in the villa. But, with Christine being returned to her own world that had a little snag.

Thankfully, we got most of it underway before the world shifted and I’ve put on the final touches. So.

My name is Joan Watson, Doctor Watson technically but just Joan is fine. I’ve just secured an outside location for private counselling for anyone with addiction issues, anxiety or depression struggles or who just needs a quiet place to talk things through with someone. I am licensed, so where absolutely required we can discuss medication.

I’ll also be setting up a more focused group for addicts to talk in a safe space for group therapy addressing issues that maybe are our case specific. Feel free to message me privately if you would like to set up appointments.

[Dr Wilson]
I understand losing Christine might leave you short handed during crisis. Since I have no real fighting skills that would translate against powered people, consider that you can call on me any time during threats and I’ll try to fill Christine’s rather large, vacant shoes.

Hi, I'm May and I work at the Youth Center. Would you mind dedicating a few hours to the kids there as well?

Hello May, of course I wouldn't mind. If anything they're probably struggling the most being so removed from everything familiar.

Amazing, thank you. That's pretty much my line of thinking as well. Being a teenager is hard enough without all of this other stuff being thrown at them. Now of course, getting them to see you is another challenge. Some of them are posturing that they're handling all of this perfectly, but it's easy to see how much they're struggling.

That's always the struggle. I definitely think if I can spend some time at the youth centre they could open up. Maybe I can come help out a few days a week, exposure therapy tends to work pretty well. And if there are any you can see are clearly struggling I can approach them a little easier.

I could. We'd need to discuss why you need something, but I can write a low dosage prescription for short term use.

Do you always have trouble sleeping or is there an underlying cause?

Hey, so I talked to Dr Wilson, but figured it wouldn't hurt to reach out to you too

Things to know about me:

  • I have ADHD and I'm medicated but I don't always remember to take my medication because it's kind of messed up that you're expected to take medication for a condition where you're not 100% cognitive enough to remember shit like that

  • I suffered a TBI a little while back because of nail that went into my brain as a result of blunt force trauma and while I'm mostly on the mend I still have some issues with uh speech, walking on occasion, reading for extended periods of time, mood swings, behavioural changes and seizures. I'm on anti-seizure medication and it works for the most part but I still have these fugue like seizures so that's kind of hard to deal with

  • I have a really particular prescription for a horrific pair of glasses which if you ask me look more like coke bottles than they do lenses and I need to wear those when my eyes get tired or I've been doing too much reading/concentrating

  • I also think I'm depressed but it as never really diagnosed back home, I just know that I'm struggling

    So, yeah, that's me

    Jesus by the way.

I know all about having to wear glasses when your eyes get tired. Try not worry too much about how thick they are, it's better for you in the long run and it's important to take care of your sight.

If you need, we can absolutely set up an alert system for your meds, that way you have someone else as a back-up? If you have a roommate or friend that would maybe be up to that? Or I could send you little reminders?

Is Dr Wilson overseeing your care for the TBI side effects? And maintaining your prescription?

If you're feeling depressed, or low, and struggling, we can have some chats? Maybe do it with some food or get a coffee or tea?

    2020-03-06 07:40 pm UTC (link)
Yeah, I know, you're right. I'll keep wearing them even if I hate them.

Uh, I don't know many people here so maybe we can start with you sending the reminders at first?

I think so? I mean, we were talking about it but I didn't hear back from him in regards to next steps.

Food's always good, I have a healthy appetite most of the time.

I think now is as good a time as any to get involved with this.

I am a recovering addict, only a few years into recovery, but before then I'd been struggling with my addictions for well over 10+ years. I'd done rehab after rehab but nothing ever really stuck.

Unfortunately it seemed to take losing my twin sister for me to finally get my act together

And now? Well, now, she's back.

I should probably also mention that I grew up in a really evil haunted house.

I mean there's a lot but I'd definitely benefit from support.

That is definitely a lot to happen, and to deal with.

I do have experience dealing with addicts, and I'm fully prepared to give you as much support as you need. Is your sister aware of your struggles?

I've never been exactly shy about them. My entire family is very aware and were for a period of time actively involved in helping me deal with them.

I guess I'll take an appointment?
