It's a few days early, but that's fine. Saves me from  I'm Dr Sam Wilson and this is your monthly reminder that if you like getting effective and appropriate medical care in an emergency you can come down to the clinic on the ground floor for a quick overview of your medical history and anything we should know.

Try not to go overboard on the candy. You aren't going to get diabetes from one sugar binge but you will be extremely uncomfortable and potentially throw up everywhere. And bring some kind of communications device if you're going out exploring, we have no idea what might be out there. I can fly out for emergency rescues, otherwise I'm staying right here.

I mean I was joking about the diabetes, I don't think anyone thinks they can get it from one round of too much sugar or everyone would be way more controlled at halloween but okay.

Yeah, I know, but I figure other people might not.

Other people might not know that diabetes is a long term over several years dietary issue? Is that not like ... basic information people have?

Not if they're from a completely different world. Medical knowledge seems to vary a bit.

Probably a good idea from the looks of things.

Uh, so I literally just got here, but I have some super complicated medical needs and my moms would kill me if I didn't call it out no matter how uncomfortable it makes me so not sure of the protocol?

I come from a pretty weird place and I've been here since day one so there's not a lot that phases me anymore. You can come talk in person or give me the broad strokes over the network first if that's easier.

Okay so broad strokes...

  • I have ADHD and I'm medicated but I don't always remember to take my medication because it's kind of messed up that you're expected to take medication for a condition where you're not 100% cognitive enough to remember shit like that

  • I suffered a TBI a little while back because of nail that went into my brain as a result of blunt force trauma and while I'm mostly on the mend I still have some issues with uh speech, walking on occasion, reading for extended periods of time, mood swings, behavioural changes and seizures. I'm on anti-seizure medication and it works for the most part but I still have these fugue like seizures so that's kind of hard to deal with

  • I have a really particular prescription for a horrific pair of glasses which if you ask me look more like coke bottles than they do lenses and I need to wear those when my eyes get tired or I've been doing too much reading/concentrating

    ...I think that's about it?

No problem. I used to be an army medic so I'm very familiar with TBI. Can't imagine it mixes well with ADHD. Have you found any coping mechanisms that help with the executive dysfunction?

At home it was routine, mostly.
