It's difficult to tell someone that you're their child, when they don't know that you exist. I don't know that I would have told mum straight away, if someone hadn't told her for me.

Maybe they wanted to let him come to you on his own. They're looking out for each other, like we're looking out for each other. It makes sense, I think.

That's difficult to believe. Did he mention any specifics?

He thought I'd be disappointed in him. He's put Fleur and me on an impossible pedestal that he compares himself to.

I want them to be happy and I'm the thing in the way of that happiness.

I don't think you're standing in the way of his happiness.

You've always left big footsteps to fill. Still, I've never known you to be unsupportive or unloving. There are worse things than setting a good example. Challenging the people around you to do better. Be better. It It isn't a bad thing.

Not actively standing in the way, no. And not here ever if I can help it.

I don't think he sees it as a challenge, not with the way he was acting. He sees himself as a failure and a disappointment. I can't even imagine how I let things get that bad.
