This is a lot more normal than I was imagining the outside of the Soul Stone would be. Are we really expecting to be here for a long time? Because I don't know how to find a job. No one I know has one except Peter and I don't think I could run a company. I'm not even really sure how much money anything is worth.

Pick someone evil you really hate and remind yourself you don't want to be like them? I used to think spite was easier than the whole sentimental "my dead loved ones would want me to do the right thing" but that one's actually been getting me more since Vision died.

Sure, but once you get to a cross-disciplinary top ten it hardly matters anyway.

Well for starter’s he’s a she. Not really, I mean, she doesn’t actually have a gender, but she said people perceived her as less threatening that way and it was just easier than the whole singular they thing.

Otherwise, yeah. All-knowing space robot with the ability to communicate in literally any language in the galaxy. Apparently I have weird taste.

Uh, yeah, no kidding.

Space. Via a secret Russian research base built where she crash landed in Tunguska so they could pull bits off and use them to make super soldiers. Everyone bailed when they stopped getting paid and ten years or so later she’d repaired enough to start broadcasting the warning she’d come here to give. Nick pulled me in to investigate the source.

That’s basically all she’d done for god knows how long. Try to reach planets ahead of it so they’d have time to build defences. We were the first ones to succeed, though the Kree got pretty good at swooping in after to peck at the carrion.

Hugely unsuccessful, actually. Vision got a message back to us that gave us a good lead, we managed to punt it into the Negative Zone.

In a manner of speaking - see, Vision was an android who -sort of- was created by a doctor and something called Ultron, which was something I created from decrypted code derived from the Mind Stone, which had been encased within Loki's Scepter. My personality combined with the AI controlling a bunch of host bodies and --- things got out of hand really quickly. Vision was going to be the perfect body for Ultron, but we (the Avengers) stole it and then Bruce and I did a little repurposing with bits of my AI, JARVIS, and -- well, Vision became an Avenger and more than just some android. He fell in love. We wouldn't have defeated Ultron without him. Oh, Ultron became a raving AI lunatic who wanted to take over the world and kill all humans by the way.

...Bruce helped.

We had Ultron. Except it was Hank Pam who created it. It killed the Scarlet Witch and her father initiated the Ultimatum event that killed my whole family.

This is fucked up.

At least Vision got to save everyone in both worlds.
