	I can use it to trap people in place, protect myself with a shield, create little vortexes and some less than pleasant things I try not to do unless absolutely necessary - burning, blinding. I can make little light figures that move around if I focus on them :D (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	For a very long time it was violent towards anyone who had any sort of magical ability. Now it's just... hatred of things they cannot understand, of the sorts of people and things those people could do that they have feared for many, many years. It's been changing, though. 	In my world there is a great deal of ignorance as well. People fear what they don't understand; it's human nature. A regrettable part of it, to be sure, but still, very human. Violence can often be a direct outcome of that fear. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Many years ago, there was good reason to fear mages. Some took their abilities too far, and caused my city a great deal of pain. When I first discovered what I could do, I was sure I would turn evil - that's what I'd been taught, how could I not? It was a struggle, I was quite terrified.
