So about that fire alarm? Just a mishap in the kitchen! Nothing's burned down! Nothing to worry about! Just a little too much smoke in the kitchen. Nothing to worry about! Sorry for any inconveniences!

In other news, Tony and I made cookies for Homemade Cookie Day! Tony did really well for his first time baking. Only one batch got a little too baked, but that's why you do test batches first. And this is how you learn. And how you learn the difference between baking powder and baking soda and little t versus big T. And that butter temperature is important. Really, it's just kitchen chemistry. And it's a great distraction from the whole maze And there are now lots more cookies. Win/win!

Overall, Homemade Cookie Day was a success for Tony and me! :D

Tony mentioned something about dancing at the wedding. He mentioned it a little while ago, but do you think that means we have to dance? Is that a wedding requirement? Or a bridal party requirement? I don't know how Do you think Tony and Pepper would be mad if I didn't dance? Are you going to Are you going to dance?

I was told that it is traditional when baking to burn the first batch, though I have doubts as to the veracity of the claim.

I've heard that, too. Not sure how true it is, but it happened this time at least. I don't always burn the first batch, though!

Perhaps I'll give Sera the benefit of the doubt then. Though it does seem to be the opposite with pancakes.

I've not made pancakes yet. Do you always burn the last ones?

The first tends to be a little undercooked and buttery.

Oh okay! That sucks that they're undercooked. Buttery's not always bad, but undercooked sucks.

Baking's not my thing, but if you're ever looking to fire up the grill, I've got literally 149+ ideas and counting on how to make a completely not-boring, hilariously named burger.

I mean, anything cooking I'm interested. My dad's also got a turkey obsession, though, so I have a lot of ideas about that too.

Seeing as I guess I'm not going to wake up anytime soon.

Uh yes this sounds awesome! I want to know more! Do you have a cookbook for burgers with hilarious names?

I like cooking. I'm not an expect, but I've not given anyone food poisoning, so that's got to be good. Why's turkey your dad's obsession? Is Thanksgiving a big deal for you guys? Do you have Thanksgiving where you come from?

It's more the multiverse than a dream, though maybe everyone's dreaming of the multiverse. Please have gone home, which I guess is like waking up. But it's pretty random. There's no known pattern to it as of yet but some of us are trying to figure that out.

Dad and I were working on getting one published. The process is really drawn out and irritating but in any case, I don't have the manuscript with me. I remember most of them by heart, though. Could teach you some for a price for free, I guess since you're actually bothering to explain what the hell is going on around here. This Jubilant Entity crap doesn't exactly cover all the bases.

Thanksgiving is like a religion itself for my dad. More than Christmas even. He's a chef, has worked in and owned a restaurant all his life and so Thanksgiving is The Big Event for him. He's very particular on the turkey being prepared and cooked exactly right.

So it's like a shared fever dream then? Never had any of those.

That's really cool! That you guys are working to get it published. That sucks that it's drawn out and irritating. Yeah? All right! I'd be happy to learn. And, yeah, no, Jubilant Entity doesn't cover much of anything. It's something that has the ability to transport people from one dimension to another (though maybe it's more a characteristic of the dimension itself and the rules here, and this Entity is stuck with us and trying to make things as okay as possible). This place has also been other places. I'm not sure how that works, but it's been a few different places. But it's also got some crappy stuff, which is why I think it's the Entity that pulls people here. Maybe not maliciously doing it, but when things keep popping up that like to mess with your head and show you stuff related to your fears, it isn't nice. And not everyone liked the singing leprechauns or the joke telling frogs, but I'd much prefer them to something trying to kill me.

Oh I see. Okay. We all have our favorite holiday. Thanksgiving's not a bad one to like! Is it yours or are you Thanksgiving'd out?

Yeah, that's one way to look at it.

Weird.

I'm definitely way more about Christmas myself. Halloween's my jam too. Well, usually. Sounds like it was pretty creepy around here. I like my birthday. Anything that's mostly about sugar and gifts, basically.

Thanksgiving is fine but it's annoying when Dad gets all pissy because none of us take it as seriously as he does.

Yeah it is.

It was... pretty creepy, yeah. That's putting it nicely. I'm hoping the next few holidays, as well as actual Halloween, won't be so crazy. But Christmas and birthdays and not crazy Halloween are good.

Ooh. Well at least he can enjoy the holiday how he wants if no one else is as into it as he is.

Smoke alarms are worth if cookies are the result.

This!

There are even more cookies now. Chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter. If cookies were currency, we'd be rich!

Thanks, Peter. Or I can meet you somewhere, if you want. Maybe we could meet away from the villas, like at a coffee shop? For coffee. Or tea, if you don't drink coffee. Or any other beverage.

oh god I suck at this

Welcome, Emma. Coffee shop's fine with me. Lots of coffee shops seem to have tea, too, but I don't mind coffee.
