Even if I could go back fifteen years to when things were okay, all the worst stuff that's happened has been self-made problems. Maybe they wouldn't happen again exactly the same way, but something would. You can't prioritise scientific progress at all costs and expect to never have to pay.

I half feel like I should be sitting down trying to hammer out all the stuff I was too paranoid to finish back home, but maybe the moment's passed for a lot of it. I'm making progress with the quantum signatures, especially with Nebula turning up now, but I don't know yet what I'm going to be able to do with it. Any way I look at that stuff we're going to hit a wall pretty soon.

You've got all those kids, anyway. I was talking to Shuri some but I haven't seen her recently.
