It was a wonderful party, thank you for throwing it Lizzie. I'm sure everyone who attended had a great time. I'm still not sure I entirely understand 21st century Halloween customs, but it was enjoyable just the same.

I suppose Thanksgiving is next? Fuck. Not sure I'm feeling overly festive but if anyone wants to celebrate, I do make a mean turkey.

There are costumes, yes, but they're definitely more intricate than when I was growing up. Everyone gets much more into them and they've definitely upped the creativity.

There also wasn't as much emphasis on the horror aspects. Of course we didn't have movies and television at our disposal the way there are now, but even the decor is definitely a bit more detailed and in depth.

The candy is way better, though, I'll give it that.

You know the photos you sometimes see of old Halloweens with kids wearing literal sheets to be ghosts? I did that three years in a row.

Yep. And rock candy, which wasn't always bad. Toffee was okay but we didn't wrap them like they do now so...sticky.

I can assure you, they taste the same. Small town boy from the 1910s, remember? I've met the turkeys I've eaten before.

It's weird, by the way, don't recommend it.
