WHO: Lydia Martin & Stiles Stilinksi
WHERE: Starting in the flat, and then ?
WHEN: Monday
WARNINGS: Probably 0

At the rate the entity was going with all of these events, it was going to take Lydia four years to finish her two years of college. Not that she was in any particular rush while she was here, but she did like her classes. There was no way she was getting on a subway train to school when there were three kids in the apartment. Well, two kids and a teenager. And work was right out as well. She was letting them roam the building freely without hovering too much, but if they needed something she wanted to be close by. She had no idea if that was right, but she had no idea if any of what she was doing was right. And she couldn't exactly call her mom.

Standing in the kitchen with a notepad in hand, she was taking stock of the dismal state of their pantry. They were eating so much, and she hadn't wanted to run out to the store to replenish in case she was needed. The idea of bringing Scott and Stiles with her was way too nerve-wracking. She'd definitely lose one of them, if not both. She had so much more respect for Melissa, Claudia, and Noah right now.

It was boring! He couldn't find anything to do. There were no cartoons he felt like watching and he already jumped on the bed. And he couldn't bug Scott because he fell asleep. Cora didn't want to play either. So, that left only one other person...Lydia.

He peeked out of the bedroom and saw that Lydia was in the kitchen. He wondered if he could sneak in there and scare her. There was only one way to find out. He left the bedroom and made his way towards the kitchen as quietly as he possibly could. So far, she hadn't noticed. Once he reached the kitchen, he stopped right behind her and then asked loudly, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Busy writing up her list, Lydia didn't notice she wasn't alone until it was too late. She managed to only jump a little bit, to her credit. Lifting her face to the ceiling, she took a deep breath before setting the notebook down and smiling at Stiles. He was just a kid, none of this was his fault. "I'm making a list of things to buy at the grocery. What are you doing?" Dropping into a crouch that put her at his level (take that, she was finally taller than him), she raised a brow and playfully poked at his stomach.

Aw, she barely got scared. He was definitely going to have to try a different tactic next time. "Can you buy cookies?" He wanted more cookies. Even though they wouldn't be the same ones that Cisco had shared, but he still wanted more cookies. "Nothing," he said as she tried to swat at Lydia's hand. "It's booooooorrring. Scott fell asleep and Cora doesn't wanna play."

At least he wasn't asking her to make them. Though she might have tried. "What kind of cookie would you like me to buy?" She'd already learned the bribing value of junk food, though she was trying to make sure they ate well overall. "I'm sorry this isn't a very fun place. What would you like to do? There are movies, I have a sketchbook if you want to draw something. I think there are some board games around..."

"Hmm..." Stiles thought about it for a moment. There were so many different kinds that he could ask for. He chewed on his bottom lip as he thought about it for a moment longer. "Chocolate chip," he finally said with a huge smile. But the smile faded and he sighed. "This place sucks. It doesn't even have a yard." He was tired of being stuck inside. If he were home, he would have been able to play outside. "I don't wanna do any of that. Can we go somewhere?"

Reaching up, she grabbed the notebook and wrote 'chocolate chip cookies' on it, then showed him. "Done. I'll get them when I go to the store." The joy draining from his tiny body was somehow soul-crushing, so she tried to amp up her own excitement instead. "We don't have a yard, that's true. But! We had a garden on the roof or there's a park nearby with swings and slides and all kinds of things to play with. We just have to leave a note for Scott and Cora." People had kids in the city, what did they do with them?

Stiles watched as Lydia added it to the list and then he read it over when she showed him. "Okay!" Yay, he was getting cookies. He hoped that he wouldn't have to wait too long because he really wanted them now. The garden on the roof sounded boring. But the park with swings and slides totally grabbed his attention. "The garden sounds boring. The park sounds fun. Let's go to the park!" The smile was back and an idea popped into this head right then too. "Can we get ice cream after?"

"Alright, park it is. Get your shoes and your coat, okay?" She was flipping to a new page to write up a note when he made his ice cream request. How was he not 95% sugar at this point? "Does your dad — and mom," yikes, that was close, "let you eat this much sugar when you're home?

"YAY!" He was already taking off to put his shoes on and his socks. He was totally going to bug Scott later about passing out. He could have gone to the park too. It didn't take him long to put his shoes on and to grab his coat. He was at Lydia's side in no time. "Mom takes me after we go to the park sometimes." He shrugged. He wasn't sure. Then again, they couldn't always keep an eye on him, so he kind of just ate whatever he wanted before anyone could say anything. "Are we going?"

Grabbing a hat for him in case it got cold later, she tucked it in her coat pocket then slid the coat on. Her heart squeezed as he explained about the ice cream, and how could she say no now? "How about if you listen to me, we go get ice cream after?" Taking her keys and putting the note on the counter, she held her hand out to him. "Come on, hurry up," she teased.

"Okay," he said with a nod of his head. It wouldn't be that hard to listen to Lydia, right? He was totally getting ice cream after they were done at the park. He quickly grabbed her hand and then waited for her to lead them out.

Gripping his hand firmly, she led him out of the apartment, locking the door behind them and heading to the elevator. "Alright, so we've established that this place is boring. But if you had to pick your favorite thing about being here, what would it be?" The elevator dinged open and she brought her hand forward to lead him in first before following.

When they were at the elevator, he pushed the down button a million times before the doors opened. Even when they entered the elevator he was already pushing the first-floor button while saying, "I wanna push the button!" Now he had to think about her question. It was a good question. He wasn't sure he had a good enough answer for it because there really wasn't a lot that he liked about this place so far. "Living in the same place with Scott." He was quiet for a moment before adding, "And meeting new friends." He looked up at Lydia and asked, "What's your favorite thing?"

As long as he only pushed the first-floor button instead of every single floor, Lydia was happy to let him continue. The elevator had probably seen worse and survived. "That's a pretty good answer," she smiled and reached across to finger-comb his hair a little flatter. She wasn't prepared to have the question turned back on her, especially not during a moment when Goodland was being difficult. Not super difficult, but not easy, either. "I like meeting new friends, too. I like that a lot of my friends from home are here." The doors dinged back open before she had to come up with any more answers, and hopefully he'd be distracted enough not to want more info.

Pushing all of the buttons would have been fun, but he figured that Lydia would get mad if he did something like that, so he restrained himself and had only pushed the one button that needed to be pushed. "It is?" He hadn't been so sure, but she said that it was. He reached up and scratched at the spot she had just fixed. "Do you think we'll ever get to go home?" he asked as the doors opened and he followed her out of the elevator.

Lydia's answer was immediate and confident. "Definitely. You'll be home before you know it." Already people had been changing back. Which was a good sign. They weren't just leaving after changing ages. It was chilly as they stepped outside, even with the sun shining. They'd be eating the ice cream inside, no way was she going to let him eat it in the cold. "Scott'll go with you, too, so you don't have to worry about that."

"Really?" It was the answer that he wanted to hear, but would it actually come true? Would he really get to go home soon? He hoped Lydia was right. He barely noticed the temperature change after they stepped out of the apartment building. He was pretty much focused on the conversation and looking up at Lydia as they walked. "What if he gets stuck here and I go home? That would suck."

"Really." He wouldn't even remember being gone, if they were right. "Scott would never stay if you were leaving. He followed you here, didn't he? He'll do the same on the way back." The park wasn't too far away, and once they were inside the fence, she let his hand go. She wished she'd brought a book to read while he played, but at least this way she wouldn't be tempted into not paying attention in case he decided to make a run for the street. "Maybe if this place is fun, we can come back with Scott, Cisco, Nico, and Didi?"

He titled his head a little, thinking about the question. "Umm, yeah, I guess so." He really did hope she was right. Because he really didn't want to go home without Scott.

He dropped his hand away from her's once they were in the park. He looked from left to right. Yeah, this was definitely better than some rooftop. "I like that idea!" And he wasted no time running off towards the slide. He went on that a few times before taking off towards another thing. He pretty much kept running around between each thing until he ended up on the swings.

Stiles was like a tiny tornado, and Lydia was getting tired just from watching him. Moving to a nearby bench, she sat there with her hand shoved in her pockets for warmth and watched him take on all the park had to offer. Clearly this was a sign she was giving him too much sugar, but she wasn't going to go back on her promise now. Not wanting to take her eyes off of him for a minute, just in case, she spent her time taking note all of the ways the tiny Stiles was like the bigger one.

He swung on the swing a for a moment before jumping off and running towards Lydia. "Come swing with me," he said as he grabbed her hand and started to pull her up. Not that he could actually pull her up, so he was basically just tugging until she either pulled her hand away or got up. "You should have fun too!"

Lydia followed him to the swings, giving it a once over. "Are you sure you want me to swing? I could push you instead." It had been years since she'd been on a swingset. So long that she couldn't even remember it. But she'd swing if he wanted her to.

Stiles didn't let go of her hand until they reached the swings. "Yes!" He grabbed one swing and held it towards her before grabbing the next one and getting on it. "Don't you swing anymore?"

Lydia got in the swing he'd picked out for her and backed up until her legs were straight, hands braced on the chain as she looked over at him. "Not usually, no. My friends and I are usually busy with other things." Staying alive being chief among them... Lifting her feet, she let herself swing leisurely, the hem of her dress tucked between her thighs. No one was getting a show today, thanks.

"Like what?" Stiles asked curiously as he leaned his against the chain and watched as Lydia swung back and forth. He was kind of forgetting to do swing himself. "Do you have a lot of friends?"
