What: Finding little Eleven Where: Edge of town When: Saturday Warnings: Canon abuse of a child and mentions of past violence Status: Closed Notes: She's wearing a Benny's Burgers T-shirt. No pants, no shoes.
She heard the gunshot and she knew they had found her. Papa was coming for her, and she didn't want to go back. So she ran. She used her mind to create obstacles to show them down, and she ran. She ran without knowing where she was going, because she'd never been outside of the lab before. She had no idea where she was, where she was going, or what she was going to do. She just knew she had to run fast and far far away so they couldn't catch her. She would rather die on the outside than be back inside with Papa and his tests.
The woods gave way to a city, and she finally slowed down. She didn't want to go into the city. Papa had told her people in the city would want to hurt her. He told her he would keep her safe, he was the only one who could keep her safe. Everything she knew, he had taught her, but she still knew she didn't want to be there. Papa could be nice to her, but she knew he really only wanted her to do her tricks for him, and he cared more about what she could do than who she was. She didn't even know who she was.
She glanced over her shoulder, there wasn't anyone there as far as she could see. Still, she felled a tree with a jerk of her hand, blocking the path she'd taken. Anyone trying to follow her would have to go around it. With that behind her, she squared her shoulders and headed into the town, trying to look like she knew what she was doing.
Several people stared at her but no one said anything as she made her way to a grocery store. Benny had fed her burgers and ice cream, but she was still hungry. She moved her hand out and the door in front of her opened, making way for her. She headed inside, her face a line of absolute determination.
