Ella & Jo
What: Dancing and Drinking
Where: A club in the city
When: Saturday night
Warnings: Language likely
Status: OPEN if anyone wants to join them! (Just poke Misha or Shalane!)
Ella liked to let loose and act like she didn't have a care in the world even though that was pretty far from the truth. Ella had a lot of cares in the world. There were a lot of things that bugged her, a lot of things that could get her riled up. But she had a devil-may-care reputation, she was known for throwing caution to the wind and just doing whatever she felt like doing. Most of it was an act, but one she was dedicated to performing.

Jo was one of her biggest challenges. Her best friend knew her as well as, if not better than, she knew herself. Jo could see right through the illusions the moment Ella let her guard down. She had to be extra wild and carefree with Jo in order to maintain the facade of not giving a shit about anything. She didn't always succeed, but she was determined tonight she would let her hair down and just have fun.

They weren't trapped in Porter anymore, after all. What better place to let go than New York? Even if it was a fake version, it was their current home. And Ella was going to enjoy it. "Are you ready yet? Girl, you don't even have enough hair to fuss over! Let's go!" Ella chided. She stood at the door, ready to get the hell out of the apartment for a few hours.

"Uh huh," Jo said, giving her a look of disbelief. That didn't last too long, though, because she did believe Ella was telling the truth. But she had to admit, dancing was always quite fun. As long as Ella didn't make her do anything else, which she highly doubted she would, Jo was having a good time.

"It's not that boring. It's nice and relaxing. It'd probably be better if David was here." One of her favorite things to do was watching a movie and cuddling up to him. But he wasn't here and as much as she wished he'd show up, she was starting to lose hope that he would. She didn't know what she'd do then, but she'd figured it out when it happened.

"Maybe one more dance and I might call it a night." She did say she'd only go out for an hour and it was a bit past that already.

Ella enjoyed pushing Jo's buttons, and making her step out of her comfort zone, but she'd never ask or insist Jo do something that was truly out of her league. She'd encourage her to drink, but she wouldn't pressure her to the point of it being uncomfortable. She actually loved Jo like a sister and respected her, even if sometimes it didn't seem that way.

"David is a stick in the mud, Jo." Ella rolled her eyes. "You're better off without him. Besides, you've got me." She grinned, and took Jo's hand. "Okay, let's dance then."

Jo was about to open her mouth to argue, to say David wasn't a stick in the mud nor that she was better off without him. That she was right where she belonged when she was by his side. But she didn't because it was a moot point. Ella just didn't understand and probably wouldn't anytime soon, though Jo still held on to the hope that she'd meet someone and finally get it.

"Well, you're right about one thing, I do have you." And she'd have no idea what she'd do here without Ella around. She definitely wouldn't have been able to handle it was well as she had been so far. She returned the smile and let Ella pull her back onto the dance floor.
