FEAR PLOT


The fears we don’t face become our limits.
DATES: Saturday, August 3 - Tuesday, August 6

SUMMARY: Ostrich Villa residents wake up to an eerie, black sky. Dark ghost-like creatures confront those brave enough to venture out. Those confronted not only feel dread and cold when these creatures approach, but also face their worst fears. The creatures seem invincible; neither magical nor lay means kill them. The sun does not come up while the creatures roam Goodland.

TONY STARK does not have a creature encounter. He will instead split his time patrolling Goodland as Iron Man and researching the creatures in his lab. He is free for IC interactions with everyone and anyone, but especially those also patrolling and researching. He is available to aid wounded/sick residents.

Kira's not having an encounter. Once she realises the visitors mentioned in the text are dangerous she's totally swearing up and down (inside her head) about not having her weapons and will try to improvise one as best she can, easiest would most likely be one of the chain weapons like kusari-fundo. She'll probably want to find Lydia to see if her banshee-dar is going off too.

Notably, she is WAY less awkward with a weapon and a threat around. :P

Sam's going to have an encounter fairly early because he's going to be heading straight outside with his wings to see if he can figure out what's going on and will end up having hallucinations of massive storms, waves coming in from the sea, floodwaters, and finally Vision half-infected with Gah Lak Tus tech (reminiscent of George Tarleton). That will at least make him realise it's not real and he'll manage to get away and back to the apartments to hide away until he's steady enough to fake being okay down in medical.

Laura's not having a confrontation and is available to find people and get them to safety. Her magic will be pretty evident because she'll be trying to maintain a kind of anti-scary thing shield, though it's hard to tell how effective it actually is.

Maya's going to have an encounter where she sees her father's decaying body with a small bloody handprint on his face. She'll definitely need help because she'll end up curled in on herself and fairly unresponsive until she gets snapped out of it.

LYDIA is pissed. It's the first day of her new job and she wakes up to darkness, a terrible feeling, and a headache from the sounds she can hear coming from some of the creature encounters. Obviously, she calls in sick. She won't have an encounter immediately but at some point she probably will end up going out to help someone and get caught up.

Ray is available to help anyone stricken after their encounters. He'll be patrolling as ATOM, so aerial surveillance, but also he can shrink and get into apartments if people are worried about others not answering. He's going to have a very brief encounter, he'll see Neron again, but will shake it off as he'll be in his suit and the HUD readouts will keep him in the here and now.

Tandy is going to encounter one of these and not have a great time of it at allllll. She's going to start out by patrolling, but will then get overcome by one. Would anyone like to volunteer to help her? Otherwise, I can post an open.

LUX has an encounter, which I'll leave open. She is oblivious to something bad going on and heads out because she's a dumb naive girl who thinks NAH ITS KAY I NEED PIZZA. She'll be seeing her brother die and that's no fun. She won't pass out, because even though her abilities overall do not work on these creatures I think the light like, keeps her goin internally but she's gonna need some help D:

VANYA has an encounter on her way back from getting coffee and donuts, which she left before the sun was going up anyway and went on a long walk so she didn't realize what was happening until its way too late. On the way back, she encounters one of these creatures and starts to lose her shit. She's gonna be hallucinating basically her entire childhood on repeat and she's gonna start to glow ya'll, her clothes gon' be turnin white, and the buildings around her (including ostrich) are going to shake like there's an earthquake. It may also rain a little. Before any real damage occurs though, Five is gonna whisk her away somewhere safe where she'll be hiding out safely away from people until the event is over.

LYRA will not be having an encounter. She thinks they're the same things as the Spectres in the world-between-worlds she encountered as a kid, and knows they eat adults. So she's not about that life and is safely staying indoors. She will be available to help though so if someone needs her, she's known to be brave and dumb and will go rush to someone's aid if need be!

Clark will be out and about as Superman. He won't have any adverse encounters, but he will hunt the creatures to try and figure out what they are/what they want. When one tries to use their powers on him, he'll give it a blast of his heat vision. (Obviously this won't destroy it.)

Sam will be heading out on patrol, he’s not going to come across anything too soon but at some point he’ll try to take an ineffectual whack at one of the creatures which will unsurprisingly piss it off. He’ll hallucinate two of his worst fears rolled into one handy vision - he’ll see Lucifer torturing him, then he’ll see ‘himself’ (now possessed by Lucifer) murdering his brother. He’ll have just enough of his wits about him to realise that Dean isn’t really here, then he’ll pass out. He will definitely need help and I think Jake was going to be with him but if anyone else wants to happen along I’m sure he’ll need all the Remus Lupins he can get.

Edmund naturally takes the 'reassurance' as a reason to do some investigating with the sword that he recently received. He has an encounter with one of the creatures where he sees the White Witch and his family turned to stone. His usual nightmare fuel. He doesn't pass out, but he does end up throwing up in an alley if anyone wants to find him. He won't ask for help because he does not want to talk about it, but he could probably use it. He has an open below.

Alice Smith will be staying inside with FP and avoiding the whole ordeal. She'll be cooking all weekend because baking is something she can control. She'll need that, especially once Jughead is brought home.

Diego Hargreeves is with his siblings and Audrey me thinks. He is fairly level headed and would keep his cool even during an encounter. His worst nightmare though, is the end of the world, and seeing everything in ruin. Specifically he would see his siblings and Patch dead in the rubble because despite how he acts sometimes, he really does care about his siblings. Except Luther. He does not like Luther.

Jake Green will be patroling with Sam Winchester as previously discussed. Jake has combat, torture, and survival experience, so he will keep calm even when he's dealing with a creature.

Jughead Jones is a reckless teenager who is going to head out into the darkness to try and see what's what. And of course he'll get caught up and have an encounter and end up passed out on the ground with visions of his girlfriend's dad killing her (because don'tchaknow he's a serial killer and he spent a good portion of S2 tormenting Betty) because Betty dying is his worst nightmare. Dick Grayson is supposed to find him and deliver him to his dad and once he is safely back in the apartment he will not be leaving again. So what if tomorrow is his 17th birthday.

JAMES got an encounter pretty early on, right when he was checking old wrecks of cars with his first pay stub in hand. He reacted pretty violently, and threw a door at it to no avail - only to start hallucinating about the (Next) Avengers dying because he wasn't there, and failing to rescue Tony from Ultron. He did snap out of it eventually, but doesn't really know how to relay the message to other people because this is just fucking weird, alright?

Klaus is probably one of the few keeping their heads cool at the moment and is chill, chill enough to go to the store, grab what he needs for his broth-y, spinach-y, meaty- soup (which he will make once he's back on his feet and attempt to feed to Nico and Freddy, at least, but will leave enough for his siblings) and the stuff that Five asked for, but ends up having a first encounter with one of the creatures as he's leaving the store, and throws most of his groceries right at it. And even though he's hallucinating (look, what else is fucking new) the worst things (Dave dying in his arms, dad being a giant asshole as only an asshole can be and more probably, since his childhood was all sorts of messed up), he remains aware enough to throw his shoes at the creature as well.

And he promptly levitates for a few hot seconds, falls to the ground, lands on his foot pretty badly and throws up, all in the space of ten seconds, maybe more. Klaus knows what a broken bone feels like, and this is definitely what this is, but he's already scrambling for his groceries, which are just fine, thankfully.
