CREATURE CONFRONTATIONS: Vanya & Five
Five looked down at his lap, studying his entwined fingers. Had he known he could take others with him through space, would he have done so before? Had he known prior to the end of the world (second edition, same as the first, but a little bit louder, and a whole lot worse) that he could do more than just push himself through time, would he have taken anyone with him? Would he have taken her? But if he had known how to do any of that, he wouldn't have gotten stuck in the first place. Everything would be different if he'd just known more about his own ability.
"I jumped us, but I didn't know I could do it," he said, looking back up at her. "It seemed like it might have been possible to move all of us through time back at the theater, and I hadn't done that before. I don't know if that worked, though. However, it makes sense that, if I can do that, I can jump with people." He decided not to mention that part of him wasn't entirely sure how that worked, either, that an instinctual part of himself had taken over in the moment. He thought he could figure it out once he had a moment to think about it. Later. He would figure it out later.
"It would have made sneaking out for donuts a lot easier to know I could do that," he added with a smirk.
