Calling Sansa and Arya's relationship complicated would be, in Sansa's opinion, an understatement. She'd attempted once to explain it to Margaery, who'd had a darling brother and a close relationship with him -perhaps similar to Jon and Arya in some ways, but Sansa couldn't really find the words to explain things.

Sometimes, it felt worse since the Battle of Winterfell, sometimes it felt better. But there were aspects of their childhood that never seemed to move away, and Sansa's extended periods with people like Cersei and Littlefinger had hardened some corners of her heart. Not showing weakness, distrusting it in others, keeping people at arms length.

It didn't really surprise her that Arya could be as cutting with words as she was with a knife. Nor did it surprise her that when animosity was delivered it was sent back. Arya brushed off her injury as if it were nothing, either unaware of the panic hearing about her sister's injury caused Sansa, or just not considering it. She had seen so many people she cared for struck from this life; witnessing father's beheading, being told in gory detail of Robb and her mother's final moments, of the niece or nephew that had been killed before it took breath, seeing Rickon so cruelly hunted by such a heartless beast. Margaery and Ser Loras, Theon, Sandor. All gone and Sansa learning with each death that caring for people brought pain.

Cersei may actually have been right about one thing.

As Shaggy Dog chased Summer through some trees, Lady staying quietly by Sansa's side and Grey Wind kept careful watch (Nymeria and Ghost with Arya wherever she was in this half ruined world), Sansa realised that perhaps she had underestimated her sister's propensity for causing pain.

Joffrey had been the biggest mistake of Sansa's life, and she knew that. She'd been young, full of ideas and swept up in the fantasy of being Queen, with an adoring husband and beautiful children and ruling with compassion and love. Of course, those turned out to be two things Joffrey wasn't capable of at all, and Sansa's childish dreams turned to ash in her mouth, dead as a dove held too tight, the moment her father's head was lobbed from his shoulders at her betrothed's orders.

She could only have wished that Joffrey would've been the worst of it. Although Lord Tyrion had been gentle and kind, attempting to make her captivity as easy on her as he possibly could, they both knew she was unhappy with their situation.

Not that any of it could have prepared her for Ramsey.

As a shudder ran down her spine, Lady nudging at her legs with a whine, Sansa buried her hand in the soft fur at Lady's neck before locating a tree with suitable shading where she could sit for a moment, keeping an eye on Shaggy Dog and Summer chasing each other.

She just needed some time and air before going home.

"Each of you? Your siblings?" Torunn did a quick headcount. "You have several then? Me too." She had her Asgardian symbols, but she wasn't raised with them so didn't bother mentioning her own roots. She thought of her older self. Was it possible to be envious of one's self? She ached to have the memory of being coated in her homeland's armor and insignia.

There was a slight sadness in the nod that Sansa gave, "I had five siblings. With me, it makes six." In some ways she counted Jon still as a sibling, although he was her cousin. Her father raised Jon as their brother, much to her mother's disgust, and sometimes Sansa's in a bid to please her mother. "My sister and elder brother's Direwolves are with her elsewhere." Nymeria rarely left Arya's side these days.

"Are you siblings here with you?" She was sure she'd seen the other girl use this network, mentioning a brother. But it was always best to check.

She caught on that Sansa said "had" instead of "have", but Torunn didn't push. She wouldn't want some stranger nosing around her business, after all.

"Some of them," Torunn replied. "James has been here a while and Pym just got here today. I have a third brother, but he is not here." She looked a little sad when she mentioned Azari, but she knew she was luckier than some who were in Goodland with no one from home. "Your sister is here then?" She inferred Sansa had at least one sibling in Goodland from what Sansa mentioned about the direwolves being elsewhere.

"It is always better to have family nearby." Truly, Sansa felt the most safe when she had some of her family there. Even when Jon wasn't trusting her, she knew he'd do anything to keep her safe. And while she and Arya were at odds sometimes, there was no doubt that Arya would kill anyone who threatened Sansa. "I'm sure Pym appreciates having you and your brother here with him." If Sansa had arrived here without Arya, or Margaery who was like a sister in so many ways, she wasn't sure she'd had adapted well.

"Arya is, yes. She's like you, a warrior." It didn't feel like an overreach to associate it with Torunn, she was evidently battle ready. Brienne would be proud to know that other worlds valued women warriors.

Torunn beamed at that. It felt good being recognized as a warrior when so many residents saw only a teenager. "I'll have to meet her," she told Sansa. "Do you live together? Did she come through the monsters alright?"

The stony expression on Sansa's face was probably rather reminiscent of her mother, "She was injured, but ... she had a mage heal her." Although Sansa really didn't want to think on the injury that her sister sustained, nor what happened to Margaery, given how much death was in their lives. "But we do live together, with Margaery, who was something of a sister to me, and the Lady Diana." Who was, again, another brave, strong warrior.

"She intends to hold swordsmanship classes." And a glance at Torunn's sword had Sansa smirking slightly, "Perhaps she could use the assistance from someone equally skilled."
