Who: Thor and Valkyrie
What: bonding!

Valkyrie sat on the edge of the roof, legs dangling off it, she was in leather pants that fit like a second skin and a long sleeved shirt that was light and soft. Her long, braided hair was loose. But atop her head was a headpiece of gold, way too gaudy for her tastes but ironic in both that it was a stylized crown and winged. She was not amused.

She was watching the afternoon sun drift lazily across the sky, soaking up the warmth, eyes focused on the horizon. The angle of the sun cast a warm glow to her, glinting off the gold and making her already warm skin look warmer.

She was not so lost in thought that she did not hear Thor coming up behind her, and for a moment as she turned her head she almost looked regal. Then she broke it as she smirked, "You cannot sneak up on me, you know."

"Of course it's fitting, why wouldn't I wear a hat that doesn't fit?" Thor teased with his eyebrows raised. "It's convinient, thats for sure. I don't have to hold my drinks now. Thirsty?" He scooted closer to her and held out her straw. "Take a sip."

His arm came around her after moving closer, holding onto her hip. "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm okay, Lucky that we got our chance is Asgard, but a little sad now." He nodded.

"Mmm. To be fair we don't get a choice this time." She laughed at that, then shook her head, stealing a sip, because why not?

She leaned into him after he put his arm around her, laying her head lightly on his shoulder. Content."Home. What this place is.the usual things, I think?"

"Same. I miss it more than I did before. This gift was a double edged sword. I did not think it would hurt losing it again."

"I am Thor, I always get a choice." He grinned. He didn't of course, he couldn't take off the helmet of course, but he hadn't been too bothered by it. He was never one to take himself very seriously after all.

"Ah. The usual thing for me is usually tacos. Or chicken wings. Any midgardian fare really. I quite enjoy it." He smiled, rubbing a small circle at her hip. "This place is home, more even than Asgard." Thor told her seriously, "As much as Asgard is a comfort, it was just a mirror. And in that way, it has not been lost, you know."

Words were sort of rushing out of him, "If it could take us their once, after having been destroyed eternally, than what is to say that we can not go there. And this time we both had time to ... liberate what we desired before it's destruction. That means that Asgard has not yet been destroyed. Not for ever. Not in every dimension. There is a way back to it...one day."

Valkyrie rolled her eyes a little, then smirked. Thor was refreshing in that sense, she loved that. It helped keep her from taking herself too seriously. Sometimes.

"I swear you think with your stomach." She relaxed, comforted by his fingers smoothing a circle at her hip. If she was being honest with herself. She was a touch starved individual and the littlest of contact was divine. "I don't think Midgard has ever felt like home, but, I've never felt at home anywhere." She said, admitting a truth she'd kept buried.

"You're right, who's to say things turn out the same in every dimension? And I don't know what you mean about liberating things. My closet has never been emptier." The lie was told with a grin, her closet was full of things.

"Asgard is a people. But even I forget that from time to time.I just hadn't expected leaving it, again, to hurt."

"I'm Asgardian. Is there any other way to think?" Thor asked her, eyebrows raised as he looked over at her. Valkyrie was Asgardian too, and he knew that even she couldn't disagree that they wee a food motivated population. Thor had thoughts, desires and goals that weren't food, but it wasn't always as easy to talk about those.

"I feel home... where ever my people are." Thor said gently, "Though, I am not talking about the people I am destined to rule... I am speaking of those who make me feel worthy enough to be a leader... Stark, and you. My daughter, and Bruce. Mother and Loki. The people who stand with me always. It is with them that I find home." He told her with honesty. "So long as we are together in this, we will find solace."

He sighed though, "Aye. It did pain my heart to wake up back in my apartment. But we shouldn't dwell, we had a lovely feast and a fire lighting. If we had stayed much longer, the magic of being there would have worn away."

"We know that there is at least on Dimension where Asgard stands... two actually. The one from which Angela comes and the one where Torunn was born. Thus, there is always a chance to go home. Think of it not as though our home is gone, but that the Bifrost is temporarily closed."

Her lips twitched into a grin, she was less food focused than he was, but she did admit it was part of their lives. They burned calories just breathing, after all. "Mmm. And now I'm hungry. Thanks." She said with a laugh.

She didn't speak for a moment, thinking over what he'd said. It worked for him but she struggled with that. Instead, she smiled, "though to be fair, you make home wherever you go." A faint grin. "Aye, you are right - together we can do anything."

"Maybe we'll visit again someday." She tucked her legs up as she leaned more weight on him, mindful of the stupid hat, "And are we? Together?" She asked, looking up at him, ready to poke him if he didn't get what she meant.

"I left my snacks at home." He smirked at her with a shrug, "there wasn't a convenient place to keep them in my hat."

"There is nothing wrong with doing that, I think." Thor told her, when she said he made home anywhere. When she leaned against him, he held her tighter, pulling her into his arms.

"I have to believe we will." Thor agrees with her. "I..."

He didn't really know how to answer that. He like his time spent with Valkyrie, he'd like it a lot. There was a warmness in his chest when she was near, and a smile on his face. "I would hate for you to ... feel obligated based on my answer, Queen Hilde."

He effectively prevented her from being able to smack him for his answer by wrapping her in his arms. Though she very much wanted to.

She made a face at him. "I have never been obligated to anyone I didn't swear a direct oath to, Thor, do not even try to dodge me with such a reply."

She was as subtle as a sudden stop. "What would you like? And I swear to the Norns you call me When Hilde again in an effort to not answer me, I will stab you."

"I don't just invite random people back to my chambers, Brunhilde." Thor told her honestly, reflecting to their time back at the dance. There was once a time when Thor would have taken any woman who bat an eyelash at him back to his room to have his way, but he had... grown a lot since then.

He looked down at her, his face soft. "I would like to explore... togetherness... with you." He told her honestly. "I do not know what that means in a place as transient as this is. But I would... yes. We are together, then."

Val smirked a touch, she'd certainly brought a few random strangers home before. Sakaar was a lonely place. Though not in a long time, and certainly not recently. She nudged him lightly, though. "I'm special, I know." She looked up at him, thoughtfully.

She waited as he worked through the thought, watching him patiently. "Good. I'm not a fan of one night - week - stands. Then together we are. And I guess you can have one of these." She leaned up to kiss him, a kiss that was softer than she looked capable of.
