Freddy & Betty
WHO: Freddy Freeman & Betty Cooper
WHAT: Chatting at the ball
WHERE: The ball
WHEN: Friday night
STATUS: Trending
WARNINGS: Nah

Freddy was happy he was on a date with Nico. It was an official date! He was over the moon, but he didn't want to crowd Nico either so he briefly left him to mingle with other friends. He spotted Betty in the crowd and walked over to her with a smile. "Betty, hi!" He knew she wasn't the same version he knew, but she was still nice and he liked her so he wanted to get to know her again. "You look really pretty."

Betty was still trying to wrap her head around this entire place. Since her arrival, they had experienced a number of weird and unexpected occurrences, more than even in Riverdale and Betty never believed that was a possibility. Being that she was curious by nature, she wanted to know why this was all happening and, more importantly, how it was possible. Like going to Asgard. It was a beautiful world and Betty was enamored by it all, particularly this ball that was unfolding around her.

She'd taken her hair down from it's classical ponytail style and was dressed in a yellow dress with a single strap holding it up. It wasn't an overly fancy dress, but it fit in for the setting. Currently, she was making her way around the room, studying the ceiling and the faces of her fellow guests around her when a voice greeted her.

Betty offered the young man a smile. "Hey, Freddy," she greeted. "Thank you. Dressing up is not really my thing, but I couldn't miss this." Betty looked around the room again with a genuine curious look upon her features before turning back to Freddy. "You look dashing. Are you here with anyone tonight?"

Freddy wasn't big on dressing up day to day either, but he was dressed in a red and blue suit that Mary helped him with. He, of course, had his cane on him to help him walk. "Do you know Nico di Angelo?" Feddy resisted turning to point him out. Rosa said pointing was rude. "It is our first real date." He couldn't help blushing and grinning at once.

He did look handsome. The suit fit him well and the colors went well together. Betty definitely approved. "I don't think I've met him yet," Betty replied. There were a lot of people Betty had not been introduced to yet.

At his blushing and grinning made Betty start to smile again. First date, it was so cute. "Is it going well?"

"I hope so," he admitted. "We've been friends for a long time." He glanced around then. "Are you here with someone, Betty?" He knew she was still new to town and probably didn't know many people. He didn't want to leave her alone.

Luckily, Betty had Archie here with her and the two had agreed to go to the ball as friends. Of course, maybe Betty had wanted more because she'd always wanted more with Archie, but she hadn't pushed. Here they were not cheerleader and lead of the football team. Here, they were just Archie and Betty and as much as Betty cared for Archie, she withheld the word "date" from their interactions tonight.

"I'm with Archie," Betty replied with a small smile. Small, yes, but no doubt still brimming with that sense of warmth and happiness that filled her at the mention of his name. There was always a shine to her eyes too, a bit of a sparkle in the depths that only the thought of childhood friend could bring about.

Freddy, the typical guy he was, missed her subtle cues about Archie. She didn't know the young man and he was just getting to know this version of Betty so he didn't know about the sometimes complicated relationship. "Oh! I can't wait to see him!" He missed Jughead, but he didn't want to mention that to Betty in case it made her sad too. However, he was determined to make Archie and Betty feel welcomed out of loyalty to his long-gone friend.

Betty had become pretty good at hiding her feelings for Archie so him not picking up on it was not all surprising. It had only been recently that she'd started to want more than just friendship from him. Obviously, she wasn't about to just spring that on him, especially given their circumstances now, but she did feel that way. Part of her knew she might always feel that way, regardless of what he said once she told him.

"I'm sure he'd love to meet you," Betty replied with a smile.
