Log: Edmund Pevensie, Elijah Mikaelson, Klaus Mikaelson
14 MAY
Edmund Pevensie • Elijah Mikaelson • Klaus Mikaelson

RATING - TBD
IN PROGRESS
Edmund Pevensie had only been in Goodland a short time, and his guard was still up to its highest alert. The world was strange and technological, his relationship with his sister was careful, and his conversation with Klaus Mikaelson and his brother had left Edmund extremely wary.

In his travels, Edmund had encountered a number of individuals and races whose lives had been extended through magic (the last twenty-three years of his own life had come at the gift of Aslan's mercy and Lucy's cordial). For some, it was a part of their nature. Stars, such as Ramandu and Coriakin, could live indefinitely under the right circumstances. For all Edmund knew, they had returned to the Narnian sky by now. But Jadis had also used magic to stave off death, and used the years to conquer and enslave Narnia. Klaus Mikaelson might be closer to either end of the spectrum or somewhere in the middle, but Edmund wanted to know what he was dealing with - especially since the man (or whatever he was) had already shown an interest in Susan.

He arrived at the agreed upon location early. He would have liked to bring a gift - for diplomatic reasons - but he hadn't had time to save up money here, and a cheap gift seemed like it might be worse than none.

Klaus followed a step behind Elijah, rather curious as to how this meeting was going to go. He had no doubt that they'd be able to convince the boy of what they'd claimed on the network - the truth wasn't hard to prove.

He raised an amused eyebrow at Elijah's politeness, and didn't offer the boy his own hand. He could figure out who he was or not, it didn't bother Klaus either way. Being polite as Elijah insisted upon was a tedious waste of time.

They were dangerous, and Klaus didn't have any desire to prove to anyone otherwise.

"So I suppose we're here to prove what we are since you insist on thinking us liars."

Suspicious or not, Edmund was polite. He took Elijah's hand in a firm handshake. "Yes, I am Edmund." He turned to the second man. "And I gather you are Klaus?" Edmund didn't like to make assumptions about others. He had painful experience in the dangers of that. He couldn't help but notice the German-sounding name, however.

Klaus's manner was more off-putting than his name, however. Edmund raised his own eyebrow. "Far from it," he replied, evenly. "I'm much more concerned by the possibility of you telling the truth. Magic is a delicate subject for my family. I advise against broaching it with my sister, in particular."
