Landon had known that Hope was upset with him, and he really couldn't blame her. He wasn't sure why he hadn't told her those things...maybe he just wanted to forget about all the weirdness that was going on back in Mystic Falls and just enjoy the much more peaceful life here. Or maybe...aw, who knew? He'd made a mistake and he was going to do everything in his power to fix things with her.

He was glad that she'd invited him to breakfast, just the two of them. Even if things weren't completely fixed between them, they could talk, and maybe get on the road to her forgiving him. Or not. He'd just take things slowly and let her lead the way.

At seven, he was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, ready for her to arrive. He kept clasping and unclasping his hands, more nervous about this than he was willing to admit.

"I don't know? I mean...I've never done it before either soooo..." He let the word trail off, then squeezed her hand tightly.

"I want it to happen. I really want it to happen. And I want it to be with you, too. I've never felt for anyone like I feel for you." Not even Josie. The only reason he'd had feelings for her had been because Hope had been torn from his heart and left a big empty space that needed filling. As soon as he remembered her...well, maybe he hadn't been as obvious and obnoxious as SimuLandon but he felt the same way. He loved Hope. He felt like he'd been put on this earth to be with Hope. And there would never be anyone else who moved him like she did.

"So all you have to do is say the word, okay? Because I definitely want to."

"I don't want to put pressure on it. But now we both know where we are... Maybe we can just... let it happen? Test the waters until it feels right?" She wished she had her mom or any of her aunts here to help. Even just to talk to, because she could easily imagine any of them saying she'd just know when she was ready.

Slowly, she stroked her thumb over his knuckles, tempted to watch that instead of meeting his eyes. "I love you so much. I want to share everything with you. And I want you to be happy. I want both of us to be happy."

"So do I. And I am happy. Okay? I am happy. You make me happy. I'm crazy about you and I want to, you know, have sex with you, but I'm happy just being with you like this, too. So your idea? I think it's good. Let's just...let it happen. When the time's right, we'll know. I hope."

He'd never really had anyone but Rafael to talk about things like this with, but now he had Hope. And they could talk about it, couldn't they? After all, they shouldn't do it if they couldn't even talk about it.

"I can go to a pharmacy and get some stuff so we're prepared. And then...whenever it happens, it happens."

He looked down at their hands, then looked over and met her eyes. "And no more secrets from me. I promise. From now on, everything I know, you know too."

"You don't have to go alone. Unless that would make things weird if I came with you..." She saw it as a responsibility they both had, besides, they were adults now, right? In a committed relationship. Buying stuff wasn't weird.

Sometimes the love she had for him felt like crashing waves, rising up and taking her over out of nowhere whenever he was so perfectly... Landon. Fighting a smile, she stepped closer. "I'm going to kiss you now," she murmured before making good on her word, her free hand rising up to hold his face. They might not have been at the park yet, but what could she say? She was a rule breaker.

"I mean yeah, sure, you can come with me." If it was weird to buy condoms together then they probably shouldn't be having sex. "I don't think it would make things weird. I mean, it shouldn't be weird, right?"

He blushed and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him as he returned her kiss with every bit as much love as she'd put into it. There wasn't any flying yet...but maybe that was because he knew in the back of his mind that he'd rather be in the park than on the street for that.

Coming up for air, he gave her a bit of a goofy grin.

"You can kiss me whenever you want. Whenever."

She shook her head; not weird. "There's different kinds, right? We could get a few to start." It would be fun for them to learn what felt best.

Stepping close, she lost herself in the kiss, losing all track of time and place for a moment. She was just as winded when they pulled apart but she still swayed into him instinctually seeking more.

"Yea? Same. Definitely the same."

"Yeah, lots of different kinds, I think. And that's a good idea. I mean, try all of them until we find what works best for us?"

That would mean having a lot of sex too, but he definitely wasn't against that. He had a feeling that once they started it would be impossible to stop.

He kissed her again, lightly, then reluctantly pulled back, leaning his forehead against hers.

"I want to keep doing this all day. But maybe we should get waffles first? I'm also starving."
