Overboard? Tony? Always. He just couldn't help himself, especially when it came to those he loved. And Pepper? Well, he loved her with his whole heart so obviously her birthday had to be perfect. He rented out BOBO's entire space and invited everyone they loved. Well, everyone they loved and then some, but he tried to keep himself in check. Really, really tried.

Tony, ever the host, traveled from group to group throughout the evening. However, as the party neared the end, he took a minute to catch his breath and grab another drink.

He couldn't keep the proud glint out of his eyes when Hope said Pepper looked happy. It was all he wanted to do for her. Pepper deserved it after everything he put her through. She deserved the world as far as he was concerned.

He waved his hand to dismiss her comment. "You're included in everything we do," he told her. "Landon too. I'm glad to get to know him better. I'm sure Pepper is too." He knew his wife was protective of Hope so he was certain Pepper would want to know Landon too. "I hope he starts to feel comfortable with us." He wanted Hope to feel comfortable too, but he left that unsaid, hoping actions would convince her.

His proud look didn't go unnoticed, giving her a feeling of warmth and happiness similar to when she saw her aunts and uncle together. It made her feel safe, too, in a way she couldn't quite pin down. The mention of Landon had her scanning the room, her entire demeanor softening when she caught sight of her boyfriend. "I hope so, too. It's hard for him to not feel in the way sometimes." They were both damaged like that, though from different sources and with different expressions.

"When are we officially going to celebrate your retirement?" Her eyes danced as she teased him, even though she was fully supportive of what he was trying to do. And might need some tips.

	Tony laughed. "I should have a meet and greet on the farm," he told her. "Now that is a real retirement." Always had to do things in a big way. (Reply to this) (Parent)
