Overboard? Tony? Always. He just couldn't help himself, especially when it came to those he loved. And Pepper? Well, he loved her with his whole heart so obviously her birthday had to be perfect. He rented out BOBO's entire space and invited everyone they loved. Well, everyone they loved and then some, but he tried to keep himself in check. Really, really tried.

Tony, ever the host, traveled from group to group throughout the evening. However, as the party neared the end, he took a minute to catch his breath and grab another drink.

Look, if you had to buy a dress for one party, you might as well wear it to the next one, right? Hope knew most people didn't see it that way, but luckily there wasn't going to be much overlap between Bonnie's birthday and Pepper's as far as the guest list went. In fact, she was pretty sure the only overlap was herself and Landon, and Landon didn't care what she was wearing. Besides, she thought the dress was a nice nod to the bridesmaid one she'd worn not that long ago.

Spotting Tony refreshing his drink, she took her chance to say hi and thank him for the invite. "Just the host I was looking for. You really went there, didn't you?"

"Hope!" Tony broke into a grin when he saw the young woman he'd come to consider family. He held one arm out, beckoning her for a hug. "You know me, sweetheart. Totally simple. This is nothing." At least he could poke fun at himself. He enjoyed sassing others, but he gave as good as he got. "You look beautiful."

Stepping into the hug, she gave him an extra squeeze before letting go. It was with a bit of reluctance, but she didn't want to hog all of the Tony. "It's amazing, and she looks really happy. You did good." His compliment made her smile even larger, and she smoothed down the skirt of her dress with both hands. "Thanks. It reminded me of stars. And I wanted to thank you for inviting me. Well, us."

He couldn't keep the proud glint out of his eyes when Hope said Pepper looked happy. It was all he wanted to do for her. Pepper deserved it after everything he put her through. She deserved the world as far as he was concerned.

He waved his hand to dismiss her comment. "You're included in everything we do," he told her. "Landon too. I'm glad to get to know him better. I'm sure Pepper is too." He knew his wife was protective of Hope so he was certain Pepper would want to know Landon too. "I hope he starts to feel comfortable with us." He wanted Hope to feel comfortable too, but he left that unsaid, hoping actions would convince her.

His proud look didn't go unnoticed, giving her a feeling of warmth and happiness similar to when she saw her aunts and uncle together. It made her feel safe, too, in a way she couldn't quite pin down. The mention of Landon had her scanning the room, her entire demeanor softening when she caught sight of her boyfriend. "I hope so, too. It's hard for him to not feel in the way sometimes." They were both damaged like that, though from different sources and with different expressions.

"When are we officially going to celebrate your retirement?" Her eyes danced as she teased him, even though she was fully supportive of what he was trying to do. And might need some tips.

Tony laughed. "I should have a meet and greet on the farm," he told her. "Now that is a real retirement." Always had to do things in a big way.

Morgan had every intention on trying to keep this party intimate when Tony asked if she wanted to help plan, but it wasn't exactly easy- especially given that she inherited her father's 'overboard' gene. It turned out to be absolutely beautiful, though and seeing her Mom happy was worth every single detail.

"Tired already," she asked as she approached him- slipping her arms into her jacket and flipping her hair out from the collar. Grinning, she raised up onto her tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek. "This was one hell of a wonderful party, Daddy."

He grinned as Morgan kissed his cheek. He'd never get over getting affection from his kids. His own father had been very different so knowing he broke the cycle, well, it meant everything. "Couldn't have done it without you," he replied. "Sorry if I added too much to your plate," he added.

"You didn't," she replied quickly- wanting to reassure him that he hadn't. "I always have room for you and Mom on my plate regardless of how full it might be." Smiling, she reached for a drink before turning back his way. "You both look so happy."

"How could we not be?" He gestured around at their friends and family. They were together and safe. He didn't need much more. "Dude's doing great too," he added, referring to bun in the oven Stark.

Valkyrie was one of those on the edges. She was fringe on the best day, and that was being generous. But she'd done her best to socialize, and not be a hermit, and not go back to drinking herself into the next century. That was the hard part, and once in awhile slips with Thor wasn't endangering that too much, she had self-control.

So she pushed herself out the door, went to the party, tried to look social and mostly succeeded. Now she hung back, found a patch of wall to lean on, and sipped her glass of water. She gifted Tony with a small smile of hello, which was pretty much the best invite to actually say hello anyone was going to get out of her.

More or less.

Tony nodded at Valkyrie's smile before sliding next to her. He made it a point to invite not only those close to the Iron fam, but their extended too. What better way to get to know everyone? "I take it this is nothing compared to where you are from?"

"Oh, well, to be fair, parties are parties. Less wild crazy gods, but overall, similar. Though, I can't remember if we've ever celebrated birthdays." she laughed a bit, and shrugged, "But it is lovely."

"Thor is enough. Thankfully he and I are vastly different - which is why we get along these days. I balance his nature out enough. We work well as a team." she smiled, a little more, "I personally don't - we get to be too old to really enjoy marking them in my opinion."

Valkyrie nodded, "He's a good one." she only mostly regretted kidnapping him and selling him. It had been an oversight, okay?

"A little, not a lot of details. We were a little busy with trying to save Asgard and then building New Asgard and everything. " she shrugged apologetically. "I was always curious."

"Basically boils down to a man named Fury getting together a bunch of superheroes and hoping it didn't go belly up." He laughed, only half-kidding. "It usually worked out okay." Except for the times BEFORE it went okay.

Valkyrie nodded a bit, "Isn't that generally how things go? Hope for the best?" she smiled a bit more, "Well, that's how life is, if the world is still standing you succeeded." more or less.

Well, then she frowned at herself because Asgard certainly wasn't standing.

Tony caught the frown. He knew Asgard was a sore subject for Thor (and with good reason), but here was further proof of the destruction's impact on his people. He could relate to Valkyrie on that. "It almost wasn't," he admitted. Something they had in common. They both saw destruction in their worlds. He waved his hand, dismissing the topic. "But, this is a party, right? More of that for another time."

"Not at all!" He shook his head. "I brought it up. I'm a mess without Pepper's help." He could party with the best of them, but conversation? He had a habit of putting his foot in it. "Do you like to dance?"
