Who: Michael Guerin, Liz Ortecho, Dorian Pavus, Maria DeLuca
What: Drinks
Where: bar where Maria used to work
When: same night as this
Warnings: TBD
Status: closed to these folks, but multiple threads between them okay

Michael knew that he and Liz had a lot to discuss, though he wasn't planning to share everything he knew with her. They'd all agreed they weren't going to tell her about the pod they found since there was nothing any of them could do about it and she didn't need that pain. Nor did his dumbass brother need her getting the bright idea that Max could heal Rosa and pressuring him to do that.

Inviting Dorian was an impulse, one he may regret if any of them slipped about the whole alien thing in front of him, but Michael figured it was good to meet new people. Especially attractive new people. Though maybe it wouldn't be the smartest thing in the world to flirt with someone else in front of DeLuca. They hadn't made any promises to each other, he knew that she wasn't going to expect any, though he could acknowledge that picking up someone else in her presence was probably not a smart move.

When he arrived, he ordered a beer and found a small table that was close enough to the bar for Maria to be able to chat with them easily.

Michael rolled his eyes at her teasing. "A beer is fine. Whatever's on tap. And cheap." He did not have anything remotely resembling expensive tastes, preferring a simple lifestyle. A lot of people thought he was lazy or lacked ambition when the truth was that he'd stayed in Roswell to look after his sister. He was used to that life now and was largely content with it.

"What else do we need to do to get your place up and running?" he asked.

She got him a pint of one of their house drafts, and leaned a little on the bar, thoughtfully.

"Well, the fridge isn't leaking anymore. Thanks for that. We've got all the booze carried in. Thanks for that, too. It's pretty much just get the bartenders scheduled and open now, I think."

She'd decided to open on Monday evening, which wouldn't be the busiest night by far, but it would give everyone a few days to get all the kinks figured out before it >got really busy. She gave him a long, somewhat hungry look.

"You could come to the bar Sunday night. Have a glass of wine with me and toast the opening."

"I could do that," he agreed, his lips twisting into a smirk at the thought that the invitation might be to do more than toast the opening. "Maybe we can christen the place too."

Michael picked up the glass and took a long drink.

“Undoubtedly,” she grinned. That had been on her mind too and there wasn’t really point in pretending that she didn’t want him. Badly. He had her there, even if he still did and always would drive her absolutely crazy.

She wiped off the car in front of him, then looked up at him again. She felt like she wanted to say something to tell him how much all his help had meant to her. He’d done a lot of work helping to get the place ready, and he really hadn’t had to.

But she couldn’t think of the right words, so she just went with the simplest.

“Thanks, Guerin,” she said softly. “For all your help.”

As far as Michael was concerned, she didn't need to thank him. It was in his best interests for her to have her own place in this weird ass city. Besides, he figured he owed her for all the crap he dumped on her since they got here.

"You can thank me with booze, DeLuca," he said. "I'm expecting not to have to pay, you know." He was teasing, wanting to lighten the moment.

"Hmm," she said, skeptically. "If I let you drink all you want, I won't have any profit and I'll starve to death on the streets." She raised an eyebrow at him.

"I'll give you a discount. As long as you behave and my bouncer doesn't have to throw you out."

"That sounds like a fair deal," Michael said. It wasn't like he went out looking for fights. They just sort of... happened. Because people were idiots.

He smirked at her. "I would never let you starve to death on the streets though."
