WHO: Lagertha and Open
WHERE: Middle of the Road
WHEN: Mid-Morning
WARNINGS: Language, Violence?
SPOILERS? Season 5a Vikings

Lagertha was in the middle of battle, watching the good Bishop fall when she found herself somewhere not the battlefield. Her blue eyes widened, and she fell back into a fighting stance, sword up, ax on her hip, hair wild, blood-spattered across her features. Everything smelled different and the buildings looked vastly different. She didn't know what had just happened. Had the gods brought her here? Was Loki responsible for this?

Was she dead and this Valhalla? No, she didn't think that was true. There was just no way it could be true.

She screamed as something came at her - a car but she had no idea - rage-filled as the person just waved at her like she'd been here forever. She had no idea what that thing was and it was horrifying. She was adaptable, she'd survive because that's what she did. But for the moment it was way too much and she made to swing at anyone who came too close. It didn't help she wasn't speaking English, and what few words she knew off the top of her head were heavily accented and very old.

She whipped around, looking around, she was preoccupied with trying to not get hit by cars or anything like that. but she didn't know what was going on. "Where am I? What is this place? Is it Valhalla??" Lagertha cut a tall, striking figure, intimidating even if she hadn't had her weapons with her. Then she stared in shock as she spoke English, she didn't really know English, "What am I speaking?!" it was not her best day, that was for sure.

Torunn didn't intend to lose her brother, but with so much going on, it was inevitable, right? She was sure James would find her, but, in the meantime, she could help the civilians. Sure, she was fourteen, but she was a warrior from Asgard. She'd been training her whole life for this!

"Madam?" she asked when she noticed someone she didn't recognize waving a weapon at cars. "Are you quite alright?" Maybe there was an invisible villain or something? She nodded toward the sidewalk. "You might want to get out of the road."

Lagertha looked at the girl - then lowered her weapon. She did not look like she'd attack her, but she didn't put the sword away. She did step back towards the thing the young lady had gestured to. She straightened up, lifting her head a bit, pulling herself together. She'd closed her eyes in horror back home and now she was here. She was off balance and it was frustrating.

"Is that what this is? What are those?" she used the sword to point to the cars. She might be able to speak English but things still didn't make sense to her. "And where am I? Is this Valhalla?" she asked clearly, but her tone was a little kinder now.

Torunn's eyes followed the sword. Her own was tucked away at her side, but she didn't feel threatened. She was just fascinated by that beautiful weapon. "Valhalla?" Torunn frowned. "No, it is...this weird multiverse thing." She hadn't paid much attention to all the science talk about it, but she got that much. "Like this place exists, but our other worlds exist too." She shrugged. "Ask my foster dad about it. Or his friends." Not that this Tony was her foster dad, but still. "Where are you from? Or when?" It was pretty clear the woman's world must have been as different as Torunn's was from Goodland. "Nice sword, by the way." She gestured to her own, showing she was a fan.

Lagertha tilted her head. "Multi....verse?" she puzzled out the words slowly, trying to figure out what it meant. But she tucked it away for later. Right now she needed to know if she was going to be in danger, or what was going to be her next step. "Can we go home? I am in the middle of a war." she said, "I was fighting King Harald and Ivar for Kattegat." she said hoping the names meant something. She didn't really know the year, she never really paid attention, but, "It was early in the 800's." she had to recall the last time the Christians she'd been fighting had said the year. It was a little hesitant sounding coming from her mouth. As if she was a little uncertain.

"Thank you. It is dependable." Lagertha paused, "Am I in danger?" she looked around.

Torunn paused. "Ummmmm, see, normally? No. But some villains sort of popped in recently and there is a bunch of fighting going on." She glanced around, wondering if she somehow summoned a villain just by mentioning it. Who knew in such a crazy place? "But!" She held one hand up. "Not from me, I promise. I was with my brother trying to make sure no one was hurt." She pointed at a piece of paper flying nearby. "I think that is your letter. It will tell you where you live and everything. I can show you?"

"Then that is enough. Any 'villian' who shows up will be met with my sword, but if you are no threat to me currently, I will gift you my trust" she had no real other choice. The girl was helpful, and that was a lot better than standing around wondering what the hell was going on.

"Is there need for more warriors, then?" she asked as she snagged the paper floating on the air. She handled it carefully, not really used to handling such things. She read it, puzzling over the meaning of words. Then she looked at the girl. "I am Lagertha and I would be grateful for your assistance."

Torunn nodded at Lagertha's inquiry regarding more warriors. There were many heroes, but there were numerous villains too. Couldn't hurt having another warrior around. "I'm Torunn," she replied. "Nice to meet you." She held her hand out for the letter. "If you let me see the room number, I can take you there. It is a place called Ostrich's Villa. There are...well, there are these huge birds that guard it." Why they did that was anyone's guess...

"There are no villains living there that I can tell. Not everyone is nice, but the crazy trying to kill us types don't live there." Yet anyway. Torunn's mind wandered back to her father and brother. She'd have to check in with them soon.

"A pleasure, Torunn." Lagertha didn't stumble over the name, not in the least. She held out the letter to the girl. "Thank you." then she paused, "Huge birds?" she blinked, that was a new one for her. She was deciding this place was utterly insane.

"Nice is not necessary. I am only worried about people trying to kill me." she said flatly, but she smiled. "I am not worried about anything like that." she filed away the info, though, in case she had to worry about people like Ivar.

Torunn couldn't disagree with her. "My world was small," she admitted. "It was my family against something trying to kill us." She shrugged in a "it is what it is" manner. Honestly? Goodland's current craziness felt more normal to Torunn than the usual day to day life she needed to adjust to. "No one in the building will try killing you," she assured. "We just have to get inside and away from..." She glanced around, but no nefarious creatures jumped at them. "We just have to get away from the villains, wherever they are right now."
