Rocky start was something of an understatement, so far. It wasn't enough that he'd been transported somewhere where there was no fade but it had to be completely different than his home. Home world? Was this a different planet? There were so many people that he'd seen on this net thing that knew where they were, recognized the area already. He also couldn't decide if it was a bad thing or a good thing that other people he knew where here. Maybe if it had been just Hawke? But no, she'd seen first hand what it was like for Anders and Justice to act as one, a terrorist, an uncontrollable force. He wouldn't apologize, but he couldn't see the other side of it. Alistair and Solona knew him from before allowing Justice to use his body as a home, knew now how far he'd come.

Was being summoned here a second chance for him? He didn't see it as such but maybe it was. He'd expected to die or go on the run, not to be transported to a new world where he couldn't see what happened.

He'd spent a few days in his room, only coming out maybe once or twice, but he'd made the sudden decision to leave and check out the streets around him. If he was going to be stuck here for Maker knew how long, he could at least look around. Anders had waited until he could no longer hear anything else from the rest of the apartment and slowly turned the knob on his door, looking out into the dark room beyond it. Maybe everyone else was asleep? In any case, he'd wrapped himself up in a black cloak, one close to that he'd worn before leaving Kirkwall, and stepped out into the hall. Through the hall to the stairs, down several flights and out, into the cooler night air. It felt nice on his face, and he paused for a moment to feel it before continuing on.

Loose sandy strands fluttered around his face as he picked a direction and started walking, making sure to note where he was going so he could figure out how to make it home. Who would he end up running into? Was anyone even awake at this hour?

In the few days Anders had been here, on this island everyone kept calling Manhattan, Justice had come out in a bid for control a few times. His hold, though, was weak, almost like it had been when he had first slipped into his body. Almost like they weren't one intertwined like they had been during the attack on the Chantry. This wasn't something he had mentioned to anyone else and he couldn't quite put a finger on why he was so hesitant with this. With the way the mage had twisted the spirit, it should have been a good thing that the connection felt different. Even so, he didn't like the fade just not being there. He went back and forth between being relieved and terrified and, of course, half of the people he was trying to avoid lived in the same 'apartment' as he did for now. If he didn't already know, he'd be questioning everyone what brought this down on him.

Was every important figure in Thedas being kidnapped into this world?

Was there a way to separate Justice and himself without either dying in this world?

If only there was just one slip of something familiar that wasn't a person. What he wouldn't give to get a piece of home right about now. Then again, he didn't really have a home, especially not Thedas.

Bringing a hand up to his face, Anders rubbed at a spot below his eye, almost not hearing the call from behind him. There was a short pause to movement in the mage, even to his breathing, before he turned around, looking at the man who had called out to him. There was a moment when he debated even saying anything at all, but he had turned around and as far as he could see, the blond didn't present any kind of threat. It wasn't a more than a few moments before he responded, his face a little serious. He could feel magic sparking in his fingertips, a feeling that was akin to the tingles of an asleep limb waking up.

"Yes, I am." Ostriches were something odd to him - there wasn't anything quite like them where he'd come from and, at first, they had filled him with some sort of unease. "I don't know how far I've come, though."

Edmund waited. He didn't blame anyone for being hesitant to respond. He'd come out for privacy himself, and it wasn't as if he knew anyone here that well. The closest he could claim was Rose, by proximity at least, and while she'd struck something of a chord with him, that was still at a wary level.

"So am I," said Edmund. "We're about four or five blocks, I should say." He paused, mentally hearing Susan's chiding for his lack of manners, and held out his right hand. "Pardon me. I'm Edmund."

[OOC: I'm sorry about the wait! I honestly could not find the thread again for the longest time.]
