Thanks to Bucky, Tia and Tony arrived to their guardian's home unharmed and without getting lost. Though it was the middle of the day, the sibling duo were in their night clothes because they really should have been asleep when they showed up. With them as their ( though he was mostly Tia's ) black cat Winkie, who had only explored a little bit before she joined Tia on the couch. He seemed to be very protective of her as he laid with his head on her lap, tail flicking happily. Her brother, Tony, was in their room at the moment so it was just her in the living room with their new guardian. "May I have a snack?" She asked, finding herself a little hungry. It was around lunchtime here so that made sense.

It was a big step, taking in siblings like he had, but they were from a similar age as him and he knew how confusing that it could all be. He had been given the luxury of at least knowing Klaus, and having his time in the hospital to handle the change of everything so his heart went out to the two kids.

"Of course," Dave said with a large grin. "I can make you something for lunch if you'd like." He offered. He didn't know exactly what sort of foods she ate, or if she or her brother were particularly picky. "Maybe a little later we can go shopping for some things that you and your brother enjoy-- food and clothes and books." Dave had been working and being as frugal as he was he had enough to spare on them.

She thought about it for a moment then she nodded her head. "Sure, I would like that" She asked as she absently pet Winkie. A meal did sound better than a snack even though she just had dinner a few hours ago. Time traveling was weird! "Can I help?" She asked as she moved to get up after gently moving Winkie aside. The cat didn't seem phased and got up to follow her. "That would be good. I like chapter books! Maybe we can get Winkie some things too" She suggested as her feet hit the floor and she looked down at the cat with a smile, giggling a little as he winked at her. There was a reason why his name was Winkie.

“Hmm… depends on what you want to eat? What is your favorite food? I can make you a sandwich, or I can pull out some chicken or something.” Dave opened the fridge to survey the sort of things that they had readily available to them.

“That’s good. We can get Winks some toys and treats. Have you read a lot of the Boxcar kids or Nancy Drew?” He asked her to gauge her interests, “What is your favorite book?”

"Pizza" She answered with ease because what child didn't love pizza? She liked specific toppings but he didn't ask about that yet so she didn't supply that information. Following him into the kitchen, she peeked around him to look at what was in the fridge. "A sandwich is fine. Do you have peanut butter?" She asked after she spotted the jelly. Peanut butter and jelly was another one of her favorites. She smiled when he wanted to get her cat toys, treats, and already had a nickname for her. She loved the fact that he accepted her cat so easily. "I tried those ones but I didn't really like them" She told him as she moved to sit down at the table. I like books more like Pippi Longstocking, Charlotte's Web, and Anne of Green Gables. My favorite would have to be ... " She had to pause and think about that one as she got settled. "Alice in Wonderland" Yes, for only being ten she had seemed to have quite an advanced reading level.

“Pizza is a great choice!” Dave beamed at her, “Have you made a pizza before? Maybe when we go to the store we will get some ingredients to make one for dinner tomorrow. Any toppings in particular you like?” Already Dave was thinking about how he could hide vegetables in the pizza sauce if they weren’t particularly into eating them. They seemed like particularly mature children, though, so he wasn’t sure there would be any issues.

“Those are great books, Tia.” He told her, as he moved to the pantry and got the small jar of peanut butter down for her before moving across to get the loaf of bread. “There is a book store in town run by a really nice man, We can look at some books for you. What about your brother? What does he like?”

"Yes it's very fun" She replied with a smile and a nod of her head. She didn't have to think about what toppings she liked very hard and answered quickly.

"Lots of cheese! Mushrooms and green peppers too. Anything really. Just no pepperoni, ham, or bacon" She told him with a shake of her head. "I'm a vegetarian" She had decided at a young age not to eat meat anymore when she discovered her connection with animals. It just didn't seem right to eat her friends. The by products, like cheese, milk, and eggs, she was fine with, just not eat or any kind. That included fish.

"I would really like that" She commented before taking a moment to think about what Tony liked. "Music, sports, and comic books"
