She’d asked for thin mints and tagalongs. In all honesty, Cas had no idea what any of those were, but as it turned out, there were multiple ways to acquire such things. He only hoped he’d gathered the correct objects and had raided the right places. There were only four boxes. It would have to suffice, but the moment he arrived home, she was doing as she’d promised. The apartment smelled warm. Like chocolate, which was a scent he now seemed to associate with her despite the fact that he didn’t have a preference for it as she did. It gave him a moment to realize that he couldn’t remember the last time he’d been home. He’d been out the night before, with Buffy’s absence dictating what routes he took. Andrew had offered to take over for her until someone replaced her. Yet in actuality, Cas was reluctant to find a replacement for her just yet. He didn’t understand it, yet he’d stopped trying to fight his human tendencies long ago.
Such as the desire to slip in behind Anna and wrap his arms around her waist, nuzzling into her neck to place a few kisses along the length of it. The state of her pregnancy was still very discreet and no one would know where to look for the various changes in her vessel. She was still very small in comparison to his own, easy to hold. Easy to manhandle, though…she rarely discouraged him from doing so, which was to his delight. He still felt she was larger than him in her true form, but in this state, he could finally see why human males and females fit together. “I’ve brought you a gift,” he murmured, setting the bag down beside her. “Providing your hands are free.”
He really hadn’t intended to ignore her or avoid her in any way. The patrols were simply a task that kept him focused and helped him learn more about the impending threats of the realm outside the city. Yet now that there were matters concerning the portal and the daedra, it seemed patrols could only do so much. He was hopeful that Anna’s sister would find the necromancer soon. Once they’d spoken with this Nanette Don and she stated her intentions, then perhaps their next move would be clear. However, that still left the matter of Zudeh…and seeing as thinking of that made his vessel uncomfortable in the chest area, he chose to focus on other things.
Slipping a hand down to Anna’s lower belly, he cupped her there delicately in order to feel the tiny Grace resonating there. It was subtle, but what remained of his own could feel it nevertheless. “Has her desire for non-nutritional sustenance subsided at all?”
