Grey eyes moved to greet Buffy at the door, emotion and general exhaustion heavy in his stare, but his back seemed to straighten a bit as he sat up, his body language welcoming her into his home. It was the first time he had seen her face to face for more than a few passing seconds, and without the unholy creatures they had to fight days ago it was a little odd to see her holding marshmallows in place of her massive scythe. In the back of his head he knew that she shouldn't have had to do this. She didn't know him, not really, but this place changed the rules of social interaction, and there was already guilt welling in the pit of his stomach knowing that she came here because of him.
With another lazy wave of his wand the door closed behind her before he tossed the wooden rod onto his table again, looking back at her just as she unpacked her pile of treats. A weak, dry smile graced his lips despite himself, and when she sat down he moved to give her room. There was a moment of tense hesitation when she asked for the bottle in his hand, and his eyes darted to it quickly before he carefully set it beside her on the table. She came over to make sure he didn't effectively poison himself. The least he could do was give her the alcohol.
"I'm a mess." His words weren't exactly a slur, but the intoxication was obvious in his voice. A heavy hand lifted to run through his hair, and after a second of silence a sound of amusement, almost a chuckle, escaped him as he shook his head. "I-I'm so sorry. This is ridiculous." Remus would have been ashamed of him, and so would Lily. Probably not James... James would have drank with him. Not like that was going to happen ever again. Unless they came back here, but that was nothing to hope for. Not if they would be dragged to a place like this.
He finally took the pretzels from her hand, opening the bag and placing it on his lap before collapsing back into the couch again. His gaze fixated itself on the dark television set, his body still again before he finally spoke. "If they go back to where they came from then Remus isn't in a good place. ...Lily is probably in a worse." He spoke gently and slowly in the effort to enunciate his words correctly. "I don't know if I should want them back or hope that I never see them here again."
