He felt it in the air around them the moment that she saw the vehicle. Sure right now it looked like nothing more than his sports car, but they both knew well enough that the exterior was merely a camouflage and that there was much more to this vehicle than it would seem at first glance. Such as that it was functioning more or less as their mobile base of communications, and that if they were going to the car it could only mean one thing.
She was frustrated. Probably more than that, even. And he didn't blame her. He still shut the door behind her as he gt in, but as he walked around the car he felt the full weight of what had otherwise been a fantastic evening crashing down upon his head.
As he got in himself and turned the ignition, he knew it would be a long ride.
