After he kissed her, she quirked an eyebrow at him. What he said was very odd, very cryptic. She wondered if he was still beating himself up over her injuries. It wasn't his fault, and she thought they had moved passed that, into a place where they were good, things were sound...
"You make me happy. Which is why I say we blow off any mingling for the rest of the night and spend it with each other." She wanted to try to distract him from whatever dark thoughts were plaguing him, and that meant pretending her shoulder wasn't throbbing and she wasn't exhausted from being on her feet. She'd take a pain pill tonight, even if it made her sleep like the dead.
