The Perch - Observatory → Vicki Vale & Dick Grayson
Vicki was taken off guard. She turned immediately to see Grayson standing near the telescope and had to tell herself to relax. She didn't like people sneaking up on her and he might not have meant it on purpose. Or maybe he did, she did, after all, surprise him that day at Wayne Enterprises. She couldn't read Grayson though, so the problem was, it could have been on purpose, it could have not been, either way, there was no telling immediately.
"Did they?" she said, glancing at the shoes in her hand and deciding mentally it didn't matter so much if she went without shoes. If he had any semblance of humanity, even he could see that wearing shoes with that high of a heel all night required some sort or reprieve. She came walking over, not as silently as he entered, but without the usual clicking sound her heels might have made. She came to stand next to him and smiled, "It's good to see you again, Mr. Grayson."
She offered him the hand that wasn't holding the shoes to shake, and then looked at the telescope, "Were you being serious about the space station or was that just you enjoying catching me by surprise?"
