Barbara frowned when he trailed off. He was smiling and then he confessed. The two were dating. It was an interesting development and it wasn't like Barbara was against the idea, just a little surprised in that way. "We still are friends. We didn't decide not to be friends just because we graduated," she informed, rolling her eyes, "It's not going to complicate things unless you decide to complicate things, Grayson. I'm a neutral party for now, and I won't choose sides. Cross my heart." She made an 'X' motion over her shirt where her heart was beneath beneath the fabric and skin.
"Don't worry about us, we'll be fine," she lifted the bag with snacks, which included drinks, "Go do your business man thing, and I'll keep her company for a bit." Giving him a light push on his arm, she made a shooing motion next with her free hand and then stepped inside the room where her friend was resting. Barbara smiled upon seeing Lizzy, "Hey, blondie. Long time no see." She closed the door behind her and came walking over to the bed, placing the plastic grocery bag with items on the night table.
This place was definitely better than a hospital. A nice big room, lots of privacy and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Barbara surveyed Lizzy and winced, "I should break the guy's arm who did this to you."
